I think the figures were known and he saw she was in the bottom two and got his people on the case immediately.
There is no other explanation why she went from bottom two to safe in one week, she hasnt changed her attitude or improved her singing, in fact the only thing that has changed is her appearance.

I strongly believe that this was the case. If the one correct spoiler was to be believed, the bottom four were:

Wagner 8%
Katie 7%
Cher 7%
and Paije 3%

I even find this hard to believe - can't believe for a second that Katie had twice as many voters as Paije on his best ever week.

Basically though, it wouldn't have taken that many votes to ensure Katie was safe. And it's not like Si can't afford it.

But why would he?
She's on the tour, and obviously she's not going to win. There's no benefit for him to spend money on her.
