I've admired Matt since I first heard him at boot camp singing a song with such emotion that I now know he'd practised and sung many, many times before (I did like Matt in his first audition, but this was the first time I thought he really stood out against everyone else).
It didn't stop there: I've loved Matt every single week he's performed. Standout weeks for me were Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, and, of course, the reprisal of his boot camp song, which was among the top two performances I've ever seen on The X Factor (just after Alexandra Burke's 'Candyman').
So why don't I want him to win?
Frankly, I did at first. I've loved him every single week. I've been blind to any failures he's had to hit the top notes. I've ignored the redtops' assertions that Matt has been less than gentlemanly about his conduct towards his ex-girlfriends and Wagner alike. Frankly, Matt was faultless on this year's series.
And then he sang a terrible song, in faux-guttural, imitation-rock style, wearing a wife-beater.
This wouldn't have been a deal-breaker, if the judges had ripped him apart for it, and encouraged him to go back to what he's good at. Yet what do they do? Praise him! It was such an objectively poor performance that, frankly, any sane observer can only conclude that the judges are biased (wow, big news, eh?).
So I'm backing Katie. I'm so bored by the fact that we're now obviously heading for a Matt/Rebecca/One Direction final, and the predictability of it all makes me want Katie to cause an actual upset (as opposed to the couple of weeks more that Simon expects to milk her headline-grabbing ability) and make it all the way to the final, stomping on a couple of pre-determined heavyweights in the process.
Is Katie real? Of course not! But I do enjoy her performances every week, and I think the press against her has reached fever pitch. The stories about her are astonishing.
Then again, there are stories about all of them. And at least Katie's honest about being fake!

The moment she says "this is the fake me" instead of "this is the real me" I might even give her a vote
blurred vision!!!!
While I wouldn't say she's "honest about being fake", I understand what you are saying in a strange way and agree. I would just say she's honest about the type of person she is as opposeed to fake
