According to a lot of websites, it's out.

Is there usually a delay before we can download in UK?

Nonsense.

There is no "usual" time for an iOS update.

It's out now.

looks like the usual 6pm then for UK folks. Was going to JB but it's all manual stuff, going to wait to upgrade

I'll hold off for a 'proper' jailbreak and compatible JB apps before updating. It's good they've made the find my iPhone feature a freebie for the latest device owners .

Is it a big update then? Taking a while to download on my computer.

I'm updating my iPod 2G first.

Not sure I'm going to gain anything.

My first one was aboout 20 minutes. Just doing my iPad and this one is 40 minutes.

I haven't got a particularly fast broadband.

Edit: Saying that, the remaining time is going up.

First thing i noticed on my iPad, the lock rotation button has turned into a mute button

I can now print pictures via WiFi directly to my printer.

I have just downloaded the "find my iphone" app, and can't seem to get it to work due to my apple ID being a letter and number combination and not a ".me.com" username. Any ideas?

Thats to mute notifications say in email when its in the background.

To lock orientation you double-tap the Home button, swipe the multitasking bar to the right, and then tap the software orientation lock button.

Have you set up a mobileme account ?

Check http://www.apple.com/iphone/find-my-iphone-setup/ for info.

BTW this only works if you have 2 iOS devices.

You don't need to install the App to use the feature (there isn't much point in the App unless you need to find an iPhone using a different iOS device).

The instructions below will help you configure it, although there is a known problem with Apple IDs like yours that aren't an email address:

http://www.apple.com/ipad/find-my-ipad-setup/ (iPad)

http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/find-my-ipodtouch-setup/ (iPod touch)
