I know there has been a lot of "palaver" about Scotland opting out of the ITV regions but what I want to know is what is the situation now re; FreeSat+ is ITV on FreeSat or has it been removed from my area, what about ITVHD or what bout when ITV+1 happens or what of the other HD channels, could someone tell me the situation please?

Presently with a scottish post code you can get ITV1 London on 977. But you don't get ITV HD channel.
You get two HD channels BBC1 HD and BBC.
You can however add ITV HD as a nonfreesat channel which you will be able to view but it wont be in your EPG to set recordings against.

Alternatively you can retune to a borders postcode. This way you will still recieve BBC1/2 Scotland and also in addition to the 2 BBC HD channels that you already got with a scottish postcode you will now also recieve the ITV HD channel. You wont however recieve STV anynmore, you will get ITV Borders instead. You can however add STV as a non freesat channel, again it wont be on your EPG for setting recordings against or planning ahead.

Regardless of your postcode with certain boxes you are able to add STV HD as a channel in non freesat mode. The channel is not yet official released on any satellite platform but is broadacsting without an EPG slot. However many people have problems adding the channel, it depends on the make of HD box you have , HUMAX works I know that.

Scottish postcode
977 ITV 1 London
101 BBC1 Scot
102 BBC2 Scot
103 STV
108 BBC1HD
109 BBC HD

Borders postcose
977 ITV 1 London
101 BBC1 Scot
102 BBC2 Scot
103 ITV 1 Borders
108 BBC1HD
109 BBC HD
119 ITV HD
