Skating With The Stars sort of tanks!
Link: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/201...ns-night/73152
According to overnights, ABC's DWTS finale part 1 performed very well with 23.28m (4.7) in the 8pm hour. As for the 9pm hour, Dancing finished at 9:10/15pm (I think) and it registered at 19.45m (4.4) from 9-9:30pm (DWTS/Skating). Then at 9:30pm-10pm, Skating tumbles down to 10.97m (2.7) and by the 10pm hour, it attracted only 6.91m with an embarrassing 1.9 in 18-49 demo. Might I suggest Castle moving to another night while Skating With The Stars is on? |

Someone said something about a private members bill being introduced into the Commons to move to CET from GMT/BST.
Private members bills hardly ever get passed, rarely get support and usually get stopped in the 2nd reading, sometimes they don't even get timetabled. I wouldn't worry about it, the Tories wouldn't support it, and I doubt Labour would. |

Just for anyone wondering, because of the timing of Easter weekend, it means we have: Easter is I believe the latest it can possibly be in 2011, and the latest it has been in decades.April 2011 18 - normal day 19 - normal day 20 - normal day 21 - normal day 22 - Good Friday 23 - Easter Saturday 24 - Easter Sunday 25 - Bank Holiday Monday 26 - normal day 27 - normal day 28 - normal day 29 - Bank Holiday Friday 30 - Weekend 1 May - Weekend 2 May - Bank Holiday Monday Will be interesting to see whether BBC and ITV treat the Friday as a proper Bank Holiday - and what they choose to do with the other 3 normal days. I guess on the Friday the schedules will run something like this BBC ONE 6.00 Breakfast 9.15 The Royal Wedding Build Up 11.45 BBC News; Regional News 12.00 The Royal Wedding 6.00 Six O'Clock News 6.45 Regional News 7.00 The One Show ITV1 6.00 Daybreak 8.30 Lorraine 9.25 ITV News: Royal Wedding Special 10.30 This Morning: Royal Wedding Special 12.00 The Royal Wedding 6.00 Regional News 6.15 ITV News 7.00 Emmerdale |

Low for Accused, but the author's The Street fell to 3m once, I seem to recall.
Have to laugh at all the people, even military chiefs, getting outraged on soldiers' behalf, though. The only insult to soldiers is believing they'd get upset or offended by a TV drama. ![]() The whingers are mainly Daily Mail types for whom battle experience is limited to a quarrel over the last bottle of Pimm's in Waitrose. |

Apparently Indiana Jones and The One Ronnie will be on Christmas Day this year. New idea for a BBC One schedule:
2.00 Top of the Pops 3.00 The Queen 3.10 Film: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 5.15 BBC News 5.30 EastEnders 6.00 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 7.00 Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol 8.00 EastEnders 8.30 The One Ronnie 9.30 The Royle Family: Joe's Crackers 10.30 BBC News Something a bit different, SCD would likely not clash with Corrie which would help its ratings. ITV would probably go: 7.00 Emmerdale 8.00 The Cube Christmas Special / Filler 8.30 Coronation Street 9.30 Poirot |

yeah no way Film: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will be 3:10pm, it has primetime written all over it, and the BBC has a few Pixar (type) movies, WallE, Shrek 3 & Cars, all 3 would work fine in that time slot.
also 17:30, EastEnders seems unlikely |

I hate it when we change threads! Picking up on a couple of things. Firstly - George Dixon. The BBC's loss is C4's loss! Secondly, The Accused. I guess having no major name attached to last night's episode didn't help either. I didn't watch it, but the BBC absolutely 100% right to be commissioning this sort of stuff. I'm guessing The Accused is basically a replacement for The Street. Quote:
dave01: Hollyoaks did badly last Friday, with only 796k (3.9%). Its 6th lowest ever rating and 2nd lowest ever share. That was off the back of some pretty decent ratings recently as well so I'm not sure what caused it to take a dip. The other teatime soaps were at their normal levels that day and Children in Need didn't start until 7pm. Not too surprised as the earlier episodes last week were, after a superb fire week, rather poorly edited together with episodes cut to shreds and pasted together. Thursday and Friday though saw a huge leap in standards with two outstanding episodes - Thursday's was the episode of the year for me, whilst Friday's - which was an episode filmed very recently (though I think the Royal Wedding reference was edited in) was also superb.
Looks like it recovered to 1.36m (including +1) last night though. |

Slightly O/T, but just how are ITV going to keep the Coronation Street tram deaths under wraps until it airs with the Xmas magazine out before it airs?

I suspect many people would not like this (ie fans, police etc) but there wouldn't be an alternative. Quote:

UK TV Guide has updated and taking the 9pm slot on Thursday 16th December is... Celebrity Grimefighters!
![]() I don't care that it's only a one off being thrown against the RVP (at least I think it's just a one off), that is just embarrassing, and a new low I think. Down there with Fat Teens In Love! |

Channel 5 are set to terminate their contract with Sky News and launch a new 'populist' news bulletin.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010...amp?CMP=twt_fd The article lists CNN and ITN as companies that have been approached but CNN would hardly want to operate a downmarket, celebrity driven news offering. There is also a reiteration of the claim that Desmond wants celebrities that appear in his magazines to appear on C5, but the ones mentioned (Kerry Katona and Jordan) both have newly signed deals with ITV and Sky. |

Looks like the next series of Million Pound Drop Live will be on at 8pm between Wednesday 15th December and Saturday 18th December.
It's going to face some tough competition including Emmerdale, Coronation Street, EastEnders, The Royal Variety Performance Show and possibly the Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final (Saturday schedules yet to be confirmed). Has George Dixon already moved to Channel 4 ?! Personally I'd have had it on at 9pm on Sunday 19th to Tuesday 21st December and 10pm on Weds 22nd December to avoid The Apprentice final. Competition on 19th to 21st would've been easier than what it's going to actually face.

US Summary
MONDAY
8pm: A series low among adults 18-49 for Chuck (1.7) and a season low for House (3.4). With that number, House slipped behind CBS' How I Met Your Mother (3.5) although it was ahead of Rules of Engagement (2.9). The Dancing With The Stars finale (which ran into the 9pm hour) had a 4.9 rating in the key demo and 23.7m total viewers. That's up 23% in the demo from last fall and the most watched Monday finale since 2007. It also tops New York Giants vs Philidelphia Eagles for #1 show of the season so far - that game held the record for just 24 hours. 9pm: NBC continued in the gutter with a 1.7 for The Event at 9pm although that was enough to tie Lie To Me (which dropped from a 1.8 in fast nationals to 1.7 in finals). Two and a Half Men was steady as ever with a 4.5 and more than 14m viewers. With no competition from DWTS, Mike & Molly posted its best ever ratings with a 4.0 in the key demo, retention of 89% and 13m viewers. It is now, by some margin, looking like the #1 new show of 2010. On ABC, Skating With The Stars is headed the same way as the ITV produced Skating With Celebrities on FOX. It recorded just a 2.4 rating with a DWTS lead-in. Last year, ABC axed an adaptation of Lets Dance... at the last minute so their search for a post DWTS talent show goes on. 10pm: Hawaii Five-O lead with a solid 3.2 rating. From 10-11pm, Skating With The Stars dropped to a 1.9 and Chase was down at a 1.4. SWEEPS: CBS have released their projections for the final results of November sweeps: Adults 18-49: #1 - CBS - 2.7 (-7%) #1 - FOX - 2.7 (-21%) #3 - ABC - 2.6 (-10%) #4 - NBC - 2.4 (-4%) Viewers: #1 - CBS - 11.20m (-1%) #2 - ABC - 9.55m (-6%) #3 - FOX - 7.82m (-20%) #4 - NBC - 7.20m (-2%) FOX had never won November Sweeps until last year so to place 1st (or joint) for 2 years in a row is quite an achievement for them. The 21% slide reflects sharp declines on Monday nights and a weaker World Series. ABC's numbers are held up by strong runs from DWTS, Castle, The Middle and Modern Family offsetting some diasterous new series. CBS is steady as ever and has backup for midseason to cover some struggling slots. The big concern for NBC is that they have Sunday Night Football just now performing to record levels. Two nights ago that meant 23.2m viewers from 8-11pm and a massive 8.8 rating among adults 18-49. NBC is also benefitting from comparisons to The Jay Leno Show last year. Come February Sweeps, the numbers will look far uglier for NBC. |

CNN could be a good option, although if he wants something celebrity led perhaps ITN is the best route to go down? I have visions of him trying to do it himself from the offices of the Daily Express... |
