A bit of an uninformed comment since the ABC1 reach of ITV2 exceeds BBC4 most nights.

Some people like to look down their nose at so called "trash tv" but a large number of people like a mix of serious stuff & fluff.
Maybe its because they are more and more chav elements now in society and of course itv2 is on 24 hours, for the average itv2 viewer who doesn't work they probably sit with it on all day and worship Jeremy Kyle. TV now panders to the lowest dominator as they are the ones who will buy anything they see in the adverts, why the BBC doesn't make as many lavious productions because the new "chav" tier of society are what matters.

I think he is effectively curtailing himself to daytime hours now but Jon Craig & Joey Jones appearing more outside of the 9-5 hours (unless there is a really big story breaking)
I can't see Adam doing 6 days a week. I'd speculate this news probably means Sunday Live will be getting a new presenter in the new year. Maybe Brazier/Wilson, or even Jones.

That's assuming they are not changing the format of Sunday Live, or doing away with it altogether.

It will start as Boulton & Co but like always it will end up being presented by anyone who is around.

Does anyone else watch Martin Stanford now in the evenings and think how pissed off he looks now his "geeky computer show" has been dropped. When I saw it it reminded me of a man who had reached his 50's but couldn't admit it and thought he was "Cool" and in touch with the "modern" youth.

It was a terrible show and should never have been on weekday evening prime time Sky's admission they couldn't compete with Channel Four News, Jeff Randall is one of Sky News' best additions.

I am not a fan of Randall but I must say the content of the show has been very good since it became an hour long and I would even go as far as to say it is the best hour of coverage on Sky News at this stage.

I do agree to an extent with Dancc's comments that they might be better off simplifying the daytime line up by just extending either the Sky News Today or Afternoon Live formats and leaving more specialists show like Jeff's and now Adam's to prime time. However I guess they feel having differing formats is a good alternative to the BBC.

Nonetheless I look forward to seeing what they come up with, I don't think the Live Desk format has aged well (although I do rate Colin Brazier.)

It will be good to have Adam & Co straight after Andrew Neil finishes on BBC Two.

Ben Shepherd presented This Morning with Ruth today as Eammon had to fly home to Ireland to be with his sick mum. They handled the show well.

He is on next week with Holly Willoughby as Philip Schofield has been given two weeks off to fly to the set of I'm A Celebrity. He swears it is only as a 'TV geek' to see the show operating live and that he will only go into the jungle after the show ends but may get some interviews then.

Be interesting to see how the BS ratings compare with the PS ones next week.

Doesn't Adam do enough for Sky News without him needing a five day a week show and a three hour Sunday show plus he's always around when anything political happens.
He seems to spend a lot of his time abroad! Maybe he's stepping down from reporting?

I dont think your being totally fair. I know a number of people who watch these sort of programmes and they're certianly not chavs just ordinary, working class people with jobs. They just like a bit of easy viewing in the evenings. To label everyone who dares to watch ITV2 or some BBC3 shows is wrong. Im not denyng that their probably is a large chunk of the audience who are "chavs" as you put it but labelling everyone who watches those shows as them is wrong.

Typical viewer will probably be some thick bint who cried when Jade Goody died, sees Jordan as a good role model for young women and whose highlight of the week is going commando to the local nightclub.
Same applies to you Glenn. Also, calling people thick bints about crying over Jade Goody dying is extremely harsh, she was a human being like you, who died very young and had young children.

Maybe after the Alaistair Campbell incident Sky have decided Adam is doing too much and that maybe why we are see are seeing more of Joey Jones and John Craig.

I hope they give Peter Spencer a bit more work he makes me laugh.

I suspect now the new Westminster studios are built they will increase the political team and we may see more new faces.

DS have soap ratings, including HD for ITV and tape checked: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3...ps-corrie.html
Impressive 6.75m for EastEnders. Looks as though a few hundred thousand more people were wise to the clash this week. 'Enders certainly holding up a lot better than Emmerdale does against any EastEnders head-starts.

They get confirmed on Tuesday. Pretty sure there wont be a 25-minute BBC News on Christmas Day.

For all I know she died young, what was she famous for? Two reality shows, now finished, where she was ostracised for being thick and being a racist but in death became some kind of marvellous person even though in about 10 years time people will say Jade who?

The shows in that digiguide update may be correct but I would expect BBC1 times to change. Im nearly certain that Eastenders wont be clashing with Corrie. From a BBC perspective I wouldnt be keen on giving ITV so many headtstarts with all these 20 past the hour start times. Emmerdale gets 25 minutes up on Doctor Who, Corrie gets 30 minutes up on Eastenders and crucially Benidorm gets 20 minutes up on The Royle Family. The ITV1 schedule may not change form that, everything looks in order and where expected.

Come Rain Come Shine has been confirmed, according to ITV Press Centre, for Sunday 19th Decemeber from 9-11pm. Will be interesting to see how it does in that slot as The Fattest Man in Britain had that slot last year and performedly solidly.

She was famous for being on Big Brother as you know. A Z-list celebrity for sure but not a racist. I think you were quite harsh with your comments about people crying over her death, I didnt think it was called for. Not speaking ill of the dead may be a good saying to use too.

Casualty could go out on Monday, I don't imagine they'd want it on Christmas Day or Boxing Day and their Christmas episode would have to go out near Christmas.

I figured it would go out boxing day. That said 19:10 by recent standards is early for Casualty.

As for Christmas Day EE, I would be annonyed if it clashed with Doctor Who: Confidentail, means I would have to record one of them.

Casualty won't surprise me, as I imagine Boxing Day will see EastEnders and probably a drama or film.

I'll reserve comment on the Xmas Day BBC1 schedule as it will probably change numerous times before Tuesday. ITV's seems confirmed, though.

(edit - does anyone have BBC1 updated listings from 18th to 24th for primetime providing DigiGuide has done a full BBC update? Might have a few new gaps filled in)

EDIT 2 from another forum... BSI strikes again, or does it?
EDIT 3: BBC stripping Upstairs Downstairs?
EDIT 4: The Nativity on from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd at 19:00

Saturday 18th
19:00 - Strictly Final
---> Casualty presumably in middle
21:05 - Strictly Results

Sunday 19th
18:00 - Countryfile
19:00 - Sports Personality Of The Year
21:00 - The Apprentice Final
22:00 - You're Hired!

Monday 20th
21:00 - Accused

Tuesday 21st
21:00 - Accidental Farmer

Wednesday 22nd
21:00 - Panorama

Thursday 23rd
21:00 - New Tricks (r)

Christmas Eve
20:00 - Eastenders
20:30 - My Family
21:30 - QI
22:00 - Have I Got News For You
22:30 - The Graham Norton Show

Boxing Day
18:00 - Countryfile
18:30 - Nigel Slater
19:30 - Antiques Roadshow
20:30 - Eastenders
21:00 - Upstairs Downstairs

Monday 27th
19:10 - Casualty
20:00 - Eastenders
20:30 - Celebrity Mastermind
21:00 - Upstairs Downstairs

Tuesday 28th
19:00 - Celebrity Mastermind
19:30 - Eastenders
20:00 - Holby City
21:00 - Upstairs Downstairs

Wednesday 29th
19:00 - Celebrity Mastermind
19:30 - Dig 1940
20:00 - Polar Bear
21:00 - Rock & Chips

Thursday 30th
19:00 - Celebrity Mastermind
19:30 - Eastenders
20:00 - DIY SOS
21:00 - Toast

New Year's Eve
19:00 - Celeb Mastermind
19:30 - A Question Of Sport
20:00 - Eastenders
20:40 - Jonathan Creek (r)
22:40 - Graham Norton NYE Show

I seriously hope we're going to see some of those 9pm slots changing for the 1st week, because that looks like an extremely weak line-up. Hopefully they've done that in the provisionals/updated schedule to throw off the competition.

The obvious scheduling decision of note is that it looks like BBC are stripping Upstairs Downstairs across the 3 days.

ITV should move Come Rain Come Shine to another date because as it stands, it'll be up against The Apprentice final.

It'd be a waste putting their only non-Agatha Christie drama for the Xmas period in that slot. Monday 27th December with a Corrie lead-in would be better.
--
As for the provisional BBC1 Xmas Day schedule posted a few posts above, for sure there'll be some changes to those timings. And also I don't think The One Ronnie will get a Christmas Day slot. If it does, I certainly can't see it airing at the heart of primetime (8pm) like the provisional schedule.
