Wow - amazing figures for SCD there in the early slot!

At least one show last night outperformed all expectations.

Don't think it would fit in with ITV2's current offerings, it will be shown every weeknight on CNN International though.

Don't worry. Cowell will make a few calls and it'll be up to 20 million by the time tomorrow's papers arrive

Lo I dont think the papers need any prompting-I predict the Star will say 25 million watched adding up pubs and people watching in the street outside tv showrooms.

i don't think the X Factor was ever going to get 20 million. Robbie you have to admit that both x factor and strictly come dancing have benifited from not clashing.

Add in the 1m watching on TV3 in Ireland and the several million watching in pubs and its easily over 20m.

Eh?

It peaked half an hour before the winner was announced?! WTAF?

So X-Factor averaged 1.6 million higher than last year's final, that is very good. And the 5 minute peak of 19.4m was 0.3m lower than last year according to DS.

The peak was less that last year seemingly as it was 19.7 back then so a decline is setting in.
Maybe the extra numbers on average were down to the BBC completely caving in-SPOTY last year peaked at about 7 million and presumably drew some viewers away from what is alot of padding over two hours. If the Beeb wanted EE to win the year then all they had to do was to run SCD in its usual slot which would have dented the figures enough. The rest of the schedule was just white flag waving.
One note of glee for some-Piers lost over 13 million viewers of the lead in-that must one of the largest drops ever.

No Direction were never in it according to Popbitch

it was always between Matt and Rebecca, though Matt was leading since second week (Mary was tops in week 1).

This shocking info from Daybreak

Superb figures, as expected, for The X Factor.

Have to disagree. X Factor was always going to beat EastEnders Live this year. But only one has the potential to be pulling in similarly large audiences in 10-15 years time.

I agree with you on Piers' show. That is an awful overnight rating for as high profile a subject as Sir Elton John. This series alone it's well behind the 7.2m that tuned into Cheryl Cole on Life Stories, Susan Boyle's 6.6m and only slightly ahead of Rod Stewart's 5.2m (all overnight figures). Very very disappointing figure for a show gifted the biggest lead-in of 2010. Maybe people are growing tired of Piers now, good job he's off to America.

EE hasn't necessarily been beaten yet has it? I thought it got 19.9 million in officials.

If I remember rightly Take That were in the 15 minute slot at 2100 where there was a dip of around 1 million viewers. 2045 (the peak) was where the top 2 performed the Winners' Singles I believe.
