Is it the BBC or Sky who get first pick?

David Hasselhoff is the latest to be linked to Britain's Got Talent. In fact, The Sun seem pretty sure of it. He's in London just now and was at The X Factor over the weekend. He judged America's Got Talent for 4 years but was sacked earlier this year due to his alcohol problems. His statement following that sacking made clear that it was NBC and not Syco or Fremantle who demanded his removal - indeed, he now has a new show with Fremantle. And it seems auditions are starting at the same time as usual so it'll probably be the same format next year as it has been for the past 3 series (7 auditions plus the live week).

Dancing On Ice is up first however. Has there been any information on what's happening with it? I'm sure I read something about a new studio? And like BGT, scheduling may be key for it. The show definitely seemed to slip a little last year.

It's never been officially announced but based on what happened last season BBC get 1st pick of 1st legs and Sky get 1st pick of 2nd legs.

(Last season the standout tie by miles was Man City v Man Utd - BBC showed 1st leg and Sky showed 2nd leg).

The Hoff's doing panto, I think he did the pilot with Cowell and Piers Morgan but couldn't commit. He was meant to do Peter Pan at the New Wimbledon Theatre 4 years ago but he dropped out as he got the AGT gig.

Just realised that the live birthday Corrie and the X Factor final are on in the same ratings week. That means, unless they have exactly the same rating*, one of them will fail to top the weekly ratings.

Come on, Corrie!!

*i'm sure BARB can arrange that for you if you ask them nicely, ITV

Edit: I bet it'll be:
1 X Factor Final (Sunday)
2 Live Corrie
3 X Factor Final (Saturday)

Whats happened to Grand Designs? The formula hasn't changed yet it's lost half it's viewership?

Well it's popularity is definately fading (see the series average) but that 1.5m is a blip. It aired against I'm a Celebrity and The Apprentice. Talk about caught in the crossfire. Thats about as tough as it gets for a weekday 9pm slot. +1 probably came in quite useful for it last night.

Has it not always aired against IAC and TA?

5.5 million no small amount of The One Show

the BBC1 really needs something to prop up Wednesday night, not suggesting EE, but something to give shows a decent lead in

Shame that The Apprentice didn't win the battle, but that was clearly never going to happen... Anyhow the rating is pretty decent for it and IAC has proved that it can survive even without Ms Mckeith. One of the most shocking ratings is the 2.26m for DOND-I'm genuinely surprised that this many people still want to watch a show which has become so repetetive I find it unbearably dull...

people still watch The Weakest Link, but yeah im a litlte bit surprise Deal or No Deal is still going, at least TWL challanges the viewers with questions.

1.56 is with Ch4, HD and +1

is that correct?”

I think C4 Sales boost their figures by adding +1

the overnights we get (and that I post) are only C4 + HD figures, so I think you're workings out are correct

what I had was 1.16m

confusing eh?
