I think its possible for every episode to be over 12 million next week. The weather is going to give them a massive boost.

The biggest test however is whether these viewers will stick with the show or turn back out again.
Monday, Thursday and Friday definitely have the potential to be over 12m, but Tuesday and Wednesday will really struggle imo. Infact I reckon they'll struggle to make 10m. With the competition and slots they've been given, I just don't think its possible for those 2 episodes to get huge audiences.

at all the over-inflated Corrie predictions. Yeah, it's SO gonna get over 12m at 8.30pm on a Tuesday and 7pm on a Wednesday!!
Of course Corrie is going to get over 12 million. You must be mad to think it won't.

How come some have so little faith in Corrie being able to pull in the viewers? its already getting 10 million in its build up so all the signs are positive.

Agreed. Monday will be huge, Thursday will be huge (but not as huge as some people are overpredicting it so they can brand it a massive disappointment) and Friday will do very well.

Tuesday and Wednesday will dip.

Monday and Tuesday and Friday's EE could also benefit with Corrie's 50th. Monday in particular could be over 10m in overnights.

Anything less than 12 million for all these episodes and its disappointing in my honest opinion.

Too much money has gone into it for them to just pull their usual figures. So if this happens ITV certainly won't be spending one million pounds on another stunt anytime soon.

The Vic fire didn't quite manage 12m did it?

Something in the region of 9.4m for the fire itself (supposed to be one of the most expensive stunts ever?) and a lowly 8.9m for the show's "matriarch" Babs Windsor's exit I believe?

Oh, and just 4 million managed to watch the "most expensive stunt ever" with Ian Beale and Phil Mitchell. That's beyond disappointing - in my honest opinion.

Come on there's a big difference between Peggy Mitchell leaving EastEnders and Corrie being the first soap to celebrate 50 years on air.

Nowhere was it reported that the QV fire was one of EE's most expensive stunts. And you're not comparing like for like, either.

There's a difference between a fire confined to one building and a tram crashing and wiping out a couple of buildings in the process. Plus that EE episode aired on a light and warm September evening against the Big Brother final.

I can't remember what the fire ended up with but Peggy's exit broke 10m in the officials so a lot watched it on catch up, presumably.

PS: Did you see Rzt's breakdown on the other page which shows EastEnders didn't 'lose viewers across the half hour' last night.

The Vic fire is totally different to the 50th Birthday of our oldest TV drama.

ITV have spent a fortune on this and I'm not really sure why you have brought EE into it. Probably to point score as you know I'm right in what I'm saying and needed to deflect my opinion. Sorry you haven't.

Doesn’t Eastenders routinely get more viewers the Corrie?

Yesterday's BBC3 repeat of EastEnders had 1.62m (7%).

That's very impressive - one of its top 5 BBC3 ratings ever I believe.
---
Also people on here now might have some idea of what the Soap Ratings Thread is usually like !

A really great figure, and as I said in the SRT it goes to show how great it is EastEnders has that regular 10pm repeat showing. It's well established and goes someway to protecting it from the damage of the immature ITV clashes.

strong audiences for BBC News Channel yesterday - Average share 1.80 percent (Sky 0.98).

There's a 2 minute preview of the Corrie disaster that's been released on the ITV website and it looks amazing. ITV really need to start showing this on ITV1, because it sums up what next week will really be about, if the current ad leaves you wondering a bit. I can guarantee ratings would really shoot up if ITV showed it.

Very good breakdown for Corrie and I'm a Celebrity, although the half an hour from 8:30pm dented Celeb.

Here's a breakdown of yesterday's 6pm and 6.30pm Regional News programmes based on different regions so you can see which regions do best for each broadcaster:

Overall Network: BBC- 8.08m (33.0%), ITV- 4.61m (20.2%)

East: BBC- 614k (34.9%), ITV- 253k (15.8%)
London: BBC- 1.08m (28.3%) , ITV- 486k (13.3%)
Midlands East: BBC- 325k (38.8%), ITV- 106k (13.0%)
Midlands West: BBC- 682k (27.8%), ITV- 512k (22.8%)
North East & Cumbria: BBC- 340k (22.4%), ITV- 406k (28.6%)
North West: BBC- 639k (25.5%), ITV- 324k (14.6%)
Scotland: BBC- 717k (31.9%), ITV- 647k (30.0%)
South East: BBC- 401k (37.0%), ITV- 229k (22.5%)
South: BBC- 602k (29.0%), ITV- 435k (22.4%)
South West: 347k (43.3%), ITV- 135k (18.4%)
Ulster: BBC- 218k (30.1%), ITV- 267k (37.6%)
Wales: BBC- 346k (27.9%), ITV- 160k (15.0%)
West: BBC- 276k (34.5%), ITV- 99k (13.9%)
Yorkshire & Lincolnshire: BBC- 991k (37.1%), ITV- 556k (21.9%)

The BBC does really well in the South West/East regions plus West/East. For some reason, they don't do so well for Look North (North East & Cumbria) region, although do very well in the neighbouring Yorkshire & Lincolnshire.

Interesting that ITV beats the BBC in two regions: Ulster and North East & Cumbria. I can understand why UTV would beat the BBC for regional news but why does the ITV North East bit (Lookaround & possibly North East Tonight) do so well? Must say I'm surprised that the North West region rates so poorly for ITV considering it's supposed to be "ITV heartland".

I don't even watch Corrie but that trailer looks really good.

I have just seen this and think ITV have to show this on Saturday and Sunday during X-Factor. It is amazing and will draw in so many people who do not usually watch Corrie. It looks like some sort of blockbuster.

Surely ITV will promote the 50th Week to death during the X-Factor semi final and IAC.

A shorter version must air during The X Factor. It looks stunning!
