I am not sure in comparison with the anniversary shows, but there is no doubt Eastenders generally does very very well out of a host of tv supplements and gossip magazines. Perhaps its because it supposedly leans younger in its audience.

I think EE is going to miss Lacey Turner, Iv lost count of the awards she has won of the last years and it seems she has a large fanbase.

Really? I can't quite believe that. They'll surely push it tomorrow night...

Oh, and that constant plugging of Kerry Katona is driving me up the wall. It's such a cynical, depressing step to secure a like-for-like Katie Price replacement so they don't need to bother thinking up any new shows...

ITV2 is in such a depressing state generally, though. You look at what E4 is doing then compare it to ITV2 and frankly its just embarassing for the latter. One takes a chance and produces The Inbetweeners, Misfits and Skins. The other considers The Only Way is Essex their finest achievement of the year...

Lol

I wonder what impact Mr Cohen is going to make and what direction he will take BBC1-especially in entertainment.

Some people in the I'm a Celebrity forum reading to much into Ant stating, and I quote "the end of the last ever Bushtucker Trial".

I'm guessing bad wording on Ant's part in that he meant to say last trial of 2010 or something. You can't accidentally say "last ever" though, surely? Hmmm.

EDIT: Probably meant 'their' last ever trial, actually.

Love island was ridiculous to the extent that putting a host of people in an environment in the hope that they would interact in a certain way was an interesting concept-the problem was they could never actually show the hoped for interaction.
Cue many hours of pointless television.

It'll just be bad wording. I wouldn't read anything into it.

X Factor finished at 21:22, Attentional will remove the 21:20 to 21:25 block. I'm a Celebrity started at 21:24.”

So they didn't show that amazing new preview featuring more footage from the disaster? Wow. There's always tomorrow I guess.

I do wonder if Five would be better ditching the 2.15pm showing. The Fiver showing is important to Fiver, but Five's afternoon scheudle is nothing special anyway so it might be worth ditching the 2.15 showing to boost 6pm?

That's what I would do, since it doesn't do all that well at 2.15 anyway. It would probably only result in a small teatime boost, but enough to take it the right side of the 1m mark. And even 1.01m looks a hell of a lot better than 880k.

Anyway, could happen in January when C5 is set for a schedule refresh.

yes Lacey Turner has become a soap icon but I think Jessie (Kat) will will be winning the awards now as she did before Lacey Arrived

Dickinson does really well in that slot, and it makes the decision to recommission The Michael Ball Show even more confusing as he didn't rate anywhere near as well (share-wise) as Real Deal or even Daily Cooks Challenge do in that slot.”

Yes my parents look in quite regularly-though any rating between 3 and 5 has to take into account the fact that BBC1 is, apart from a very few standouts, largely a non-player.

W. T. Actual. F (God bless you whoever made that one up) are ITV playing it? They have X Factor semi final and IAC final and they don't use that Corrie trailer? Idiots.

I do believe I introduced WTAF to this thread. Can't pretend I invented it though!

It's insanity they didn't exploit these big nights to promote this week's Corrie. What a joke.

Haven't heard about that..anything been confirmed yet regarding schedule changes? Will be interesting to see what happens. I would guess a revamp of the 6.30-8pm first.

-----

Regarding I'm A Celebrity, hats off to the producers/ITV for changing the format of the final and actually experimenting for once. Keeps the show fresh. And very clever to have the interviews before the winner is announced. The winner wasn't announced until around 22:20, therefore boosting ratings, as they normally tail off when the winner is announced.

Now next year all we need is:
-Revamped credits
-New studio
-More secret missions
-Better celebs
-Different format to the main show

XF on the other hand was a rather dull affair I thought for the semi-it definitely missed the 2 controversial acts and was very fixed for certain contestants.

It was on........

...at half 10 when everyone's just turned off.

Edit: or did you mean the one on the ITV website?

I have read that C5 will have a new scheulde in Jan, but so far no Week 1 listings from C5.

They should be starting new series of CSI & CSI: NY in Jan, I hope they are not delayed.

It's says on the ITV website it's a 'spoiler' preview so I guess that's why they didn't use it. But then it doesn't hurt films to air a trailer like that. I hope that ITV1 at least think about airing it tomorrow during The X Factor Results.

Saying that, if they'd aired the trailer during The X Factor it would've seriously shown the latter up. I like watching it but it was awful tonight, and I wouldn't be surprised to see another dip in the ratings. I'm A Celebrity... was better but might suffer from a lot of filler. Strictly was entertaining so I hope it rates well.

As for last night - good for both the main channels. The soaps are starting to see the autumn have a proper impact.

how many spoilers can a trailer for a live episode give away?

If we're thinking about the same trailer - it focuses on the whole week and who's live is in peril. But I agree, it shouldn't be anything for ITV to worry about.

I expect that they thought if they showed it tonight people would have been like "wow" and then they would of shown it tomorrow during the X Factor results people would have seen it already.

I suppose you can either show the promo non stop ( where it becomes less effective) or show it once and make it more of a "big showing/reveal" of the promo and making people remember "oh it's on tomorrow" and plus seeing as the promo's quite long ( I suppose they could cut down, but they shouldn't) the've probably gone for the second.

Yeah, the ITV website one. They'd be insane not to air it on tv outside of the Alan Titchmarsh Show.

Even a shortened one minute version could remove some of the more spoiler aspects but still show the spectacle and excitement.

That would be foolish - not all the afternoon viewers would move to the evening, meaning less people viewing the product overall - and then C5 having to shell out for something to replace it in the afternoon. Indeed I suspect the afternoon showing is basically free for C5 - and in the context of C5's overall ratings 400,000 in the middle of the afternoon isn't too bad.

Previous I'm a Celebrity Final overnight ratings for reference purposes:

Series 1 (2002): 10.5m (46%)
Series 2 (2003): 12.3m (50%)
Series 3 (2004): 14.1m (54%)
Series 4 (2004): 10.9m (44%)
Series 5 (2005): 11.8m (48%)
Series 6 (2006): 9.5m (42%)
Series 7 (2007): 8.2m (34%)
Series 8 (2008): 9.1m (39%)
Series 9 (2009): 9.8m (41%)

Tonight's final will most likely be the most watched since 2005. It might be able to beat the series 1 and 4 final ratings but I don't think it'll be able to reach the heights of series 2, 3 or 5.
