C4 has the B&W original on the 23rd, then ITV1 has the 1994 remake on Xmas Eve.

Impressive for that also IMO. I hadn't seen that rating so couldn't comment.

I'm interested how the 1960 episode of Coronation St will do as it has quite tough opposition from EE. A lot of nostalgic older viewers and a few curious younger ones could give the repeat about 6 million viewers and pull EE down to 7 million.
Also I reckon The Accused, a fine series whose ratings have been damaged by IAC, could actually do quite well in its slot as word is getting round these are good dramas. IAC Coming Out will win the slot, with about 8 million vewers, but The Accused could go up to 5 million.

Thanks. I imagine both will rate very well, relative to how their respective slots usually rate.

Elf on C4 next week is going to rate really well if last year's rating is anything to go by and no doubt Dirty Dancing will rate high up in C5's Top 30s list for next week too.

Is there nothing of note on there at all?

Nope, all TBA. Apart from Corrie, Emmerdale, Eastenders.

And C4 showing Independence Day on New Years Day, and a Father Ted night.

lots and lots of TBA

We are still playing a game of Wheres Wall-E, infact the only thing ive noticed is Sunday 2nd, C4 are showing Iron Man.

however shows like Primeval, Hustle, Come Fly With Me, even Casualty all missing. Heck no listings for Dave yet.

I know I keep banging on about it but MasterChef Australia is doing really well on (UK) pay TV. It hit a new high of 275,000 for the episode on Monday 22nd November. The episode on Wednesday even broke the 300k mark if you include +1. Massive hit for the channel that it is on.

The final is on Friday - can't wait to see how it does.

Edited to add: the series 1 finale posted an audience of 211,000 on Sunday 11th April.

Blimey they're being very secretive! I suspect they'll update with the actual provisionals on Wednesday, with actual programmes in it before the schedules are confirmed on Thursday. These schedules will be interesting as not only is it the New Year weekend but we'll also get an indication of how things will pan out for the first few weeks of next year.

Iron Man should do very well for C4. My guesses as to where things will end up, and what will be starting that week on the two main channels:

BBC1
Hustle: Tuesday 9pm
Silent Witness: Thursday, Friday 9pm
Aurelio Zen: Sunday 9pm
Come Fly With Me: New Year's Day approx 9:30pm
Wall-E: New Year's Day approx 6:30pm
Indiana Jones: Bank Holiday Monday 8:30pm

ITV1
Primeval: New Year's Day 7pm
Above Suspicion: Bank Holiday Monday 9pm
The Biggest Loser: Tuesday 9pm
Marple: Wednesday 8pm
Single-Handed: Thursday 9pm

These are total guesses though and I'm not sure if all of these programmes will even air that week.

Probably not although I'll wait to see how it turns out before making a full judgement.

Quick Corrie/Twitter check: Not trending worldwide or in the UK.

Note Attentional will remove the last 5 minutes for Emmerdale (19:00) and the last 5 minutes for Coronation Street (19:30). The first ever episode of Coronation Street started at 19:59.

Would ITV put The Biggest Loser in Flop Zone?

The Twitter trending topics don't update properly. A quick 'search' of 'Corrie' on Twitter and you can see loads of people are talking about it, with many comments from the "last 20 seconds". Whereas search the stuff in the trending topics and the recent comments are from 2-5 mins ago. The trending topics are flawed.

Not that I take much note of Twitter these days for ratings anyway because they've proven to be very wrong previously!

Besides, I can't imagine many of Corrie's core audience use (or have even heard of ) Twitter!

If you took notice of Twitter Justin Bieber would have been #1 in the World for the past 12 Months

Ah, yes... so it is. Really not sure what to expect from the overnights, I do think they are going to be spun in every way possible. Hoping it's high though.

Just diving into Sunday afternoons for a sec, and for those wondering why Dropzone is on in the afternoons....

21/11 - 1.07m (7.4%) vs 2.04m (14.1%)
28/11 - 1.00m (6.1%) vs 2.09m (12.7%)
05/12 - 0.90m (5.8%) vs 1.91m (12.2%)

...there's your reason.

Yeah first Corrie ended at 19.56 so this will drag down the average of the episode. Second episode will end early too i imagine. The tape-checked ratings will look much better than the slot averages tomorrow!

Probably, it would be the first time the programme name is appropriate for the slot.

Twitter means nothing. I wish people would stop trying releate trending topics to ratings.

The real story here is the combined shares. Only 18% between BBC One and ITV1 yesterday afternoon- awful!
