The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor at 6:25pm on Boxing Day on ITV1. And now, ITV commission a 6 part drama - except this is destined to be in the list of 2011 flops: http://www.itv.com/presscentre/press...w/default.html

Quote:
“ITV Commissions drama about two angels on Earth from Kudos Film & Television and Monastic Porductions.

Six part drama series Eternal Law, created and written by Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham, has been commissioned by ITV for 2011.

Set in the beautiful city of York, Eternal Law is a bittersweet, uplifting drama which focuses on two central characters, Zak and Tom, who are angels sent to earth to both help a community and try to understand the human condition.

The series will examine and explore the baffling human spirit as Zak and Tom, who are both lawyers working for a local legal firm, attempt to influence humans to do right by one another. However, things don’t always go according to plan particularly when they come up against old adversary and dark angel, Richard Pembroke, who is determined they won’t succeed in their challenge to lead the community to a more harmonious way of living. Life-affirming, warm and witty, Eternal Law is a highly original contemporary series, a unique blend of the intensely real and the magical.”

The BBC is launching Live +7, a new system for measuring ratings that incorporates linear and catch-up viewing of a programme.”

Intersting to see what this means for BBC 3 shows.”

Wow, 3.1 million watched the first episode of this series of The Apprentice on Iplayer in the 7 days after it was broadcast. That surely smashes the previous record?

I was surprised by that figure.

As for this Angel Lawyer show, Kudos do have a pretty dencet hit rate, I was interested until I saw the Angels became lawyers.

Got a feeling the 3.1m has been reported wrongly, no programme has broken 2m on there, let alone 3m - not even Doctor Who or Top Gear.

EDIT: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcintern...y_Oct_2010.pdf

Total requests per episode
1 - The Apprentice Series 6 Episode 3: 953,000
2 - The Apprentice Series 6 Episode 1: 916,000
3 - The Apprentice Series 6 Episode 2: 864,000

So yes, the 3.1m figure is a major exaggeration.

Surprised to see The Apprentice continue to rate so well considering (as a non-viewer) there is a notable lack of buzz around this series.

A programme of note next Thursday - 2.45-3.45pm BBC2, the announcement of the hosts of the 2018/22 World Cup.

I want to say its the count for the entire series, but looking at those figuers, that seems low, its not that far off 3 million based on those 3 eipsodes alone.

Oh thats odd, looks like they've got a bit of work to do on the new Live +7 day system then.

Good evening for the ITV channels yesterday. The Champions League rating is as good a rating there's been for a group match in the last 5 years, and IAC Now did well considering there was no IAC on the main channel for people to flick over from. The Apprentice held up brilliantly and if there was easier competition, there's no doubt it'd be getting 8m+ in the overnights. It's boosting an otherwise pretty poor Wednesday for BBC1 but I suppose Waterloo Road will return in a month or two's time to bring some stability back to that 8pm slot.
---------------
Interesting 2010 shares posted earlier on - BBC1's had a great year to actually grow its audience! I think a couple of shows which have really contributed to the rise have been: Breakfast and EastEnders which have rated better than last year. Add in the strong World Cup ratings and the 9pm slot remaining stable, it's been a strong year for them.

The Apprentice getting 3.1million on BBC iplayer - was that for the night ITV1 had England vs France in the football? (which may explain why everyone was playing catch up?).

I must be in a posh forum - The Sun today had a 12-page Christmas TV Guide pull-out and nobody's mentioned it . Still, allow me to assist...

BBC2 Christmas Day
9am to 6.30pm To Be Announced
6.30pm to 8.30pm To Be Announced

The BBC One schedule in the newspapers looked a lot like the fantasy schedule by Cent yesterday. Maybe that's where they got it from!

No Come Fly With Me on Xmas Day was a bit of a surprise. Good to see Wall-E get the nod over Cars.

I wonder how Corrie will do tonight in an IAC sandwich and on at 9pm? Normally around ~8.5m on a Thursday, will be interesting to see if IAC boosts the Thursday episode to above 9m.

By the way, it's an Antiques Roadshow repeat against The X Factor final results. The Total Wipeout on Saturday is a repeat, too.

Robbie's not going to be at all impressed when he reads the above post.

(and I can bet the smiley will be somewhere in his post)

They've really thrown in the towel there. There's going to be no sort of lead-in for Casualty on the Saturday night.

I'm assuming Casualty is not a repeat...

I guess a new Total Wipeout Celeb special would be wasted against theX Factor final but disappointed they couldn't put out a new Antiques Roadshow.

Note, ITV1's ratings will be doctored by DS in the morning, Corrie from 21:05 to 21:30, IAC from 21:35 to ??:??.

I can't envisage the snooker final pulling in too many viewers on BBC Two, against the results. 2m, maybe, or just under 2m.

EastEnders finished just before 8.26pm.

I think this years cast are arguably the nicest in the shows history. A number of them have spouses and children and there seems less needle all round. And the way the show goes, sometimes the more outrageous characters get dumped because.......well because they arent suitable for the job(unlike another show ) even if they might be viewer friendly.

However its still as compelling, and rather marooned as it is on Wednesday nights, is doing great business for BBC1. Also it has Stuart Baggs(The Brand!) -pure apprentice gold-who looks like he's just finished sixth form and draws some fantastically disdainful looks from the older women. Worth watching for him alone.

Yes I think it will be a Total Wipeout! Really a packing up and going home schedule. Perhaps they should show the old "interlude" scenes, or try out a new testcard.

Stuart Baggs is easily the most entertaining contestant in this series, if not any series. I dread to think what the series would have been like had he gone home early.

He is definitely there or thereabouts-makes me laugh out loud.

Total Wipeout repeats are the BBC's alternative? Test card would rate better.

Honestly, Auntie. I love you dearly, but your behaviour puzzles me sometimes.
