Come Fly With Me looks painfully unfunny. I'm amazed they can sustain a series out of it.

Just a small chance that the extensive coverage of this evening's violent student protests in London could take the shine off Corrie's figures.
Hard to say how popular the coverage will be in this hour as activity seems to be dying down a bit now compared to earlier but it's certainly been a busy news evening with Charles and Camilla's car attacked. But generally these things don't rely on viewers like me, I think they rely on people who used to watch but have drifted away. Needless to say, I think this thread will be full of controversy tomorrow! Something tells me Dan and Robbie will be gloating about how Corrie fell short of expectations. ![]() Quote:
At the X Factor press conference today, Simon Cowell said that Syco/ITV "might be announcing something fairly soon as I think there should be another music show".
I know Syco have a lottery style show in development but wasn't aware of them possibly making another "music show" - the last one they launched I think was 'Grease is the Word' which flopped. I wonder if it could be another musical-based show but this time have Andrew Lloyd Webber onboard, who's featuring in a couple of ITV documentaries next year too. He wanted to bring back TOTP a while ago but I just don't think there's a market for a music countdown show every week. The XF results are basically TOTP but it only works because they can cherry pick who they want and they get the biggest acts for premiere performances due to the success of the show. Like many things on the internet, TOTP seems to have huge support but actually confront an audience with a show made up of Professor Green, Plan B and Chipmunk and I doubt you'll get many watching. A List stars aren't releasing every week of the year. As for the ALW thing, I'd be surprised if Syco were involved even if it does go to ITV. They seem to be on the hunt for formats that they can sell internationally (like Got Talent & X Factor) and also, Talkback Thames already produce the ALW shows. They'd probably not be thrilled at giving up a share to Syco (who own 66% of XF & GT). Plus, the Exec Producer that ALW likes at Talkback Thames isn't the one that does Cowell's shows. |

As for ratings, and whether it matches EastEnders, does it really matter? I dont work for ITV or BBC. I dont think any of us do here?

On another note, Frankie Boyle's Tramadol Nights has generated a fair bit of controversy today, and it looks like things could get even uglier between him at Katie Price and her lawyers. Presuming C4 continue with the show (I assume they will) this could give it something of a boost as it didn't rate too well this week. Although it did get about the same as Chris Moyles on Monday and wasn't too far behind the sort of ratings that Chattyman/8 Out of 10 Cats get so I'm not dismissing it as a total flop yet considering the disaster of a lead-in it has (that it has built on for both episodes).

Regardless, it will rate very well for its first two episodes. |

There's one notable regular on here who has consistently refused to admit or deny that he works for ITV. There may be others...
Hope Corrie did well just because for me, it was very good and in the soaps forum it is polling well in terms of which soap produced the best live episode this year (75% V 25% ATM). Quality is the main barometer. I hope it rates well too, for all involved in the making of the show this week. They can all be proud I think. |

Looks like Neighbours is in some trouble http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2010/12/...eighbours.html Quote:
Sources tell TV Tonight the changes include studio shoots reduced from 3 to 2 cameras, with 1 camera to be used for location without steadicam, grips, dolly and crane. Locations will be confined to the backlot (Lassiters) and ‘Ramsay Street’ with occasional use of one-off locations. As a result the location manager and location catering have been cut. There is talk that technical director, art director, studio sound recordist and designer are also affected or gone. I am not sure the show has 1 year left, yet alone it surviving till 2017.
Five holds a contract with the show until 2017 which secures its long-term future. |

What was the official Barb rating for EE Live? I think in the officials Corrie might just overtake them.
