It is so easy to forget what has gone before. The BBC have already done a 90 minute live drama back in 2005. BBC 4 showed a remake of an episode of the Quatermass Experiment.

Brand new low for Neighbours 385,000

http://www.tvcentral.com.au/2010/12/...10th-december/

Not good for TEN

even out rated by The Bold & The Beautiful on earlier in the day.

They must be in a dilemma with Neighbours as the ratings over here are steadily going back up. Imagine Hollyoaks over here getting 2 million in Oz and dropping below a million here

that suggests to me, that Australia has totally given up now, even improving the show wont help it. Sticking it on ELEVEN wont either.

Well, it doesn't matter to Ten who don't benefit from overseas sales - but yeah, for Freemantle, they'll be desperate to keep it at least alive on Eleven simply because of the money they make in the UK. What sort of ratings would make it a success on Eleven?

I have to be honest, though, I think its a dead soap. Those production changes posted yesterday are dire. Single camera on external scenes will make it look like a YouTube video. Horrible.

Multichannel in Australia hasn't really gotten off the ground has it? Im sure a read on this thread once that a repeat of The Bang Bang theory got the highest ever "multichannel rating" of about 150,000. Neighbours will be lucky to stay above 100,000 if thats the case. I'd imagine seeing some of the longest runners..ie most expensive cast members going in 2011 and more of these "3 month recurring guests"

no one really knows, no more than 200,000 is my guess.

That Big Bang rating is wrong, just from this week

Quote:
“30 The Big Bang Theory Tx1 Go! 324,000 76,000 128,000 61,000 34,000 26,000”

“28 The Big Bang Theory Go! 418,000 83,000 129,000 108,000 36,000 61,000”

I actually think the multi channels in Austrlia are doing quite well.

Chances of the above even being remotely correct are zero. Emmerdale's rating too high for the above to even be real.

Nice try, though.

But hasn't Emmerdale been getting 8 million on overnights this week?

Yeah, 8 million including HD. It would not get 8.9 million excluding HD on a Friday of all days. I apologise if they are correct but I strongly doubt it.

If they are predictions, then the ratings should be marked as such.

I don't know anyone who watches it now, it's considered to be a programme you watched 20 years ago. However, 385,000 viewers would equate to 1.2 million over here, similar to what Neighbours gets at 5.30 on Channel 5. But considering it had 4 million viewers at its peak in Australia and 18 million in Britain, you could say it is a dead or dying soap. Yet Neighbours producers can always say they outrate Home and Away by about 500,000 here.
