Seems unlikely that yesterday's second Corrie episode got more viewers (inc. HD) than Monday's tram crash episode!

I think I'll wait for DS or another source to update with the ratings to corroborate your numbers. The source I usually get the ratings from haven't updated yesterday's ratings unfortunately.

Any ratings for Kerry Katona's show on ITV2 on Thursday?

For what it's worth, ITV are repeating Odd One In in the post-News slot on Thursdays from 6th January at 10:35pm. Presumably this means it's been recommissioned despite flopping I think.

Can't remember the exact number when I checked yesterday, but it was about 600k.


Or maybe they're repeating it because it rated badly first time round and didn't make enough ad revenue at the time so are making back that potential loss through repeats? Same thing for that Unforgettable Bob Monkhouse show too.

ITV must be really pleased with themselves in the past month. Four years ago they only had Corrie and Emmerdale as guaranteed hits, the X Factor was still finding its feet. In the past month I'm A Celeb, which seemed to be in decline a few years ago, pulled in 12 million for its final, the X Factor has regularly pulled in 13 million viewers, you know who's anniversary week has attracted 11-14 million viewers and Emmerdale has added a million viewers. However, apart from this, they don't have any other hits and when TXF finishes and Corrie ratings die down after this week, then the cupboard will be bare again until BGT.
ITV need now with the huge profits they've earned from their month, well two months if you add in Downton Abbey, of big hits to invest in some new hits and quality drama for the rest of the year. The Biggest Loser, which will probably be a ratings loser, is not the way forward.

ITV still have episodes of Law & Order:UK to show. If they put it back on monday nights after Above Suspicion 3, that shoud guarantee 5-6 million a week in janurary

Seeing Bob Cryer's name reminded me that I think the most incident packed live episode that I've seen in recent times was for The Bill. It involved a car exploding/crashing I think.

Daybreak seems to have settled at 800,000 which is the same figure GMTV ended on. BBC Breakfast is hovering between 1.8-2 million which in fact is a bigger gap than the GMTV era. So BBC Breakfast has actually found new viewers from somewhere and ITV has retained its audience but not built on it.No Daybreak over Xmas weekend but a ''weekend'' BBC Breakfast with Bill Turnbull down to present on Dec. 25. Daybreak is then cut back to 90 minutes on Dec 27 and 28 as ITV try an hour of CITV from 0600-0700.

The occasional Emmerdale hour-longs were always effective in denting the ratings for EastEnders (presumably that was why they were scheduled in the first place), but once the hour-longs became weekly, the viewers voted with their remotes, and EastEnders fared better.

I haven't seen Daybreak, but I know ITV wanted to move away from the overly lightweight approach of GMTV. I know locally a lot of people stopped watching it when the floods were on and GMTV seemed more interested in Katie Price.

What figures do BBC2, Ch4 and Five get between 6am-10am?

Back in the day the BBC used to move Eastenders regularly to a later slot when hour longs appeared on ITV, until eventually they declared themselves above that sort of thing.The Emmerdale clashes dont do EE any good though.

Don't tell me, tell Keith Richardson. He was "Loving it" (his words) when Emmerdale was beating EastEnders, thanks to its head-starts. And he and some of the cast members were talking about making Emmerdale the "number two soap", presumably ahead of EastEnders.

It does seem to me now ITV1 puts all its efforts into autumn. You think about it, The X Factor, Downton Abbey, I'm A Celeb, plus this year's lottery win of the 50th anniversary of Coronation St, are all autumn programmes. To me they seem to be at their weakest in the summer when cheap reality shows that attract 3 million viewers are shown as ITV know shows like All At Sea would struggle in the autumn.

Yeah, the BBC used to move EastEnders away from the clashes, but it didn't do any good, because although it meant people didn't have to choose between the two soaps, it did mean EastEnders lost other viewers due to the irregular timeslots.

Going back a few years, there was one time when the BBC moved EastEnders to 8pm on a Thursday, in order to avoid a big storyline in an hour-long Emmerdale from 7 until 8pm. However, ITV changed their schedule and split Emmerdale into two half-hours at 7 and 8pm that night. In fact, ITV might even have run it from 7.30 until 8.30pm.

That was the last time the BBC moved EastEnders, because it was obviously pointless to move it under those circumstances.

Look at the 8pm ratings with a lead in from Emmerdale versus those without. The ones with lead-ins generally rate about 0.5m higher.

As for the pub talk or willy waving, well thats just what you get in any organisation.

I expected more from the soap that for nearly all of its 50 years, was the unquestioned No 1 soap. I think this year belongs to EastEnders.

Still in all fairness, Corrie is still doing better than Neighbours

For what it's worth I think Corrie Live rated brilliantly. OK, it didn't match EE, but frankly, who cares? 14m is incredible and another 2m for the repeat just adds icing to the cake. Before Monday I doubt anyone expected it to beat EE although with it rating so well earlier in the week, expectations rose, but a 12m average across the week is exceptional and everyone involved should be very proud.

As for last night, that's shockingly low for Strictly. Obviously it's a great rating but compared to the 12m it got last week that's a huge decline. It'll obviously do better tonight but I do wonder if it'll suffer significantly without Ann. The Big 50 did decently against SCD and Corrie itself did very well again.

How do people think The X Factor, Take Me Out, JLS and Strictly will do tonight? I think: X Factor: 13.8m, TMO: 7.1m, JLS: 4.7m, SCD: 10.9m.
