A pretty big deal.

Proof that out-and-out dance anthems can do exceptionally well in the US. Well done, RiRi.

I personally think it's amazing that the second single from Loud reached #1 before the first one.

Wow thats great news. She was No.1 with 'What's My Name?', so she must've knocked herself of the No.1 spot.

Nah, last week Like A G6 went back to No. 1, but the week before What's My Name was No. 1.

Oh right. I was wondering why they had them as No.1 still on the Billboard chart. Still great news. It's a shame her album didn't get to No.1. Susan Boyle is . Rihanna's album 'LOUD' is brilliant imo.

The girl is a SINGLE seller NOT an ALBUM seller
and ALBUM is where the money is

and the BILLBOARD charts are based on RADIO+SALES
they must be playing that damn song 10 times a day, thank god i dont like in the USA

I can't with this woman.
She slays the billboard charts SO effortlessly. and LOUD charted at #3 with 206,018 copies making it her biggest first week sales

It is kind of bizarre how effortlessly she manages to own the singles chart. Way better than any other of the pop princesses have or do.

Shame for her really that it doesn't translate into anything much more than that.

I guess it has a lot to do with the airplay. She can be played on all the R&B and urban stations, as well as having the pop, dance etc. stations that Gaga & co. dominate. That would make a massive difference.

Not a fan of LOUD as an album, too rushed and contrived, but I like this song.

Thats pretty much it, she has it made in the US due to the amount of stations she can be played on compared to others.

She's broken 3 records!

- First female artist to have four #1 singles in a year
- Most #1 singles out of any artist this century
- First time a lead single gets to #1 after the second one, EVER in chart history!

Yes mostly due to the amount of radio spins. I don't like that airplay is included in the US Charts.

Why? You do realise they include airplay because the artists/record labels make money from their songs being played?

It's also fairly balanced out, in that a track download counts for more "points" than radio play (as artists make more money from a single download).
