Stacey doesn't exactly have the gentlest of voices either but we all love her so on the whole, Kayla is no more annoying than her, Like them both personally

I don't think it's that. I've never been irritated by an American accent before. It's more that she sounds like a five year old.

However, if everyone around her (at home in LA) talks like that then that's what she's going to pick up.

Same here! I trained as a voice therapist and we used to call that the Daddy's Girl syndrome. Normally used by women who have been desperately spoiled by Daddy and continue to use that voice subconsciously to wind men - well, everyone - round their little fingers.
