Launch of the Body Rocka

I know there was some discussion about this before - a holding page on a website - but it looks like it's officially launched now.

See http://www.bodyrocka.com

I'm impressed that something designed in a task has come to fruition (puts the Book-Eaze to shame) but wonder how well it will sell? Would anyone here actually buy or use one?

It's pants, man.

Yes I know. Pathetic and predictable. Sorry.

Just wanted to be first in with the obvious response.

I'm sure it's a perfectly viable product. Good luck to him and especially the charity aspect.

Wouldn't buy anything from that page currently!

There are no contact details whatsoever on it!

He's got four of them on eBay. Doesn't seem to have sold any yet.

The trademark Body Rocka is held by Freemantle (Talkback Thames parent company). They registered it around the time the program aired. How can he use it? It was a team effort, the team including the design prototype company who did most of the actual work

Simple.

By negotiation with the rights holder.

I dare say the candidates sign away any rights to any ideas/designs when they agree to take part in the programme. So it's just a matter of agreeing terms with whoever does hold them.

Can't really imagine it being a great success, though.

All these cheapish exercise devices are pretty much gimmicks - you can exercise all the muscle groups that they claim with either nothing or things you find around the house.

He'll probably snaffle a few mugs, nonetheless.

That's what I understood too. Just hoping he has as I didn't see any mention of Freemantle on the website, or tm sign.
And the lack of contact details, ltd company without the reg number, does suggest he might not have done his legal homework all that thoroughly. Or just jumped the gun with the all important PR

I thought John Lewis had exclusivity.

they had 6 month's exclusive didn't they ,although ,was this not filmed last year then delayed and delayed broadcasting because of Sir Alan's involvement with Labour.

Or maybe John Lewis never had on-line right's to sell.

It was a pretend order. The product didn't actually exist, just the prototype. Like the other big orders this series.
