Hi there all.

I have just bought a Humax foxsat pvr and want to backup my recordings to hard drive but I know youv'e been asked a million times before but i'm having trouble transfering vidoes to usb hard drive or usb stick.

I tried formating ext hdd to ex3 when in linux and fat32 when in windows, the annoying things is that just for one minute the foxsat let me transfer a video. I deleted it then tried the same one again but i couldn't, the green button wasn't lit.

I phoned Humax support they siad I had to format the usb hdd using the foxsat, any ideas as i cant find the menu selction for this. not even in the secret menu.

Cheers Graham

Generally if your not getting the green copy button to highlight means you haven't set the distination folder. Move your cursor to the right hand pane and toggle the 'ok' button a couple of times on either the root directory or one of the folders with in it, you should see the destination location open and close. Open the required location and then move the cursor back to the left hand pane and then select the file to be copied and the green copy button should highlight.

There is no option to format an external device via the set top box.

Welcome to the Forum, Graham!
Were you trying to copy an HD file? Not sure if you are aware that the HD files from BBC HD for example can only be copied once. Thus if the file has been copied once then the green "button" stays grey.
