Well, not in an absolute sense, no, but if you call a white person a 'white prick', it would probably count as racist even though the 'white' part is a simple statement of fact.

According to the report "The driver made an extremely provocative, sexist and insulting comment" so if she called him a <xxx> arsehole, that could be interpreted as racial abuse even though the <xxx> is factually correct but irrelevant.

What she got into trouble for, though, was kicking the taxi.

She was not convicted of doing anything racially aggravated and the only evidence we have that she did are the words of a couple of elements of the gutter press. Which is certainly not enough for me to form any sensible judgement.

She called him a "f**king dirty p*ki",

F**king - fair enough, we all swear at people when angry
dirty - an absolute reference to him and his race being unclean, filthy, scummy etc
p*ki - entirely derogitory and much like n*gger which ever way you look at it. Only acceptable if used by pakistanis when describing themselves in an ironic way.

Agreed.

Certainly not.

If anyone made a sexually offensive comment to someone they are likely to be called dirty.

I wonder why you associate Pakistanis and being dirty?

It would not have occurred to me.

Only acceptable if used by pakistanis when describing themselves in an ironic way.
You are actually saying something is acceptable for one race but not another?

That sounds very racist to me.

And racism is never acceptable.

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

I also can't believe how much support and love seems to be flowing in the direction of Stuart. The guy is obviously a prick, one episode where he was slightly less annoying certainly doesn't make him a nicer person!!!

I also found this little beauty...... how nice!!!

Yeah, that was a bit cringeworthy

Luckily she and Stella were able to charm the hotel manager

Pointing out that your continual obsessing about one incident that has not been reliably reported and happened five years ago in the heat of the moment to repeatedly bash a candidate (the only black candidate, BTW) is hardly 'showing true colours'.

It's just asking for a little sense of proportion.

If it happened (we know she kicked the taxi because she was found guilty of that but for the racial abuse we only have the word of a couple of members of the gutter press), it wasn't OK.

But

It happened once and it happened five years ago.

Your continually resurrecting that to bash the only black candidate in the process is what's really suspicious.

Actually I cant afford to get involved, Ive already got two bans on here and I believe the third one is permanent.

And trust me, the mods ban you for the slightest indescretion around here. Still never got an explanation as to why I got done the first two times.

This is what she was found guilty of

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to 'causing racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence' and was given a two-year conditional discharge.
We know it was racial abuse because she admitted it and was found guilty

Nope.

It's the fact that you are carrying on a virtual hate campaign against the only black candidate in the process that raises suspicion.

you have lost it love
There's also something inherently creepy about someone who repeatedly refers to someone they don't know as 'love' or 'dear'.

I know it's a rather childish ploy (and water off a duck's back) but it does make you come across as a wee bit sleazy.

It was the wording that I was referring to when I said we didn't know for sure.

And nothing alters the fact that it was a one off incident half a decade ago and yet it is being brought up on a regular basis which makes one wonder about the motives of those who find the need to obsess about something so remote.

And I worry about the motives of someone who makes light of a racist attack.

Who might that be?

There are many things people do that are reprehensible and for which they must shoulder their share of opprobrium.

However, continually obsessing about one off, heat of the moment, incidents from half a decade ago sometimes tells us more about the people doing the obsessing that it does about the person against whom they are obsessing.

I've already agreed that racist abuse is unacceptable at any time. (And I've been banned from a couple forums on more than one occasion for overstepping the mark with racist posters - it's not something I take lightly).

Just wondering why a couple of posters are continually using such an old incident to bash the only black candidate.

That's the funny thing about insults ... They are meant be insulting.

She should probably have called him "A f*cin' dirty Pakinstani"

That would have been a more acceptable insult .

And yes, well done to Stuart for open the conversation in German. A nice touch, I thought.
