IAC shoots themselves in the foot....

..... according to the Hobbit brothers Gillian will not be doing any more trials (its now being voted for by the inmates) and I just think that I can see the viewing figues going down and down and down, as this is the only reason why people watch it, it seems to me that Gillian has been the "break out" star of this programme (albeit for very bad reasons) and its now going to be the case of Gillian being even more precocious or the viewing figues decreasing, anyone got any ideas?

Ant and Dec didn't need to make that statement. Now they are voting for trials in-camp she'd never have been chosen anyway.

I say give her a BTT where she has to bungee jump out of a helicopet with no bungee cord!

I'm sure she'll come up with more strange and wonderful ways to hog the limelight. She knows what she's doing.

Well there are a good few who TRY their best to 'hog the limelight',.Stacey and her Roland Rat voice, Linford and his muscle flexing, Kayla and her 'bikini' shots, Jenny tries to be funny, Alison tries to be funny, Sheryl and Aggro do their best impressions of Statues, Lembit tries to be the camp's 'daddy', Brit tries to pout her way through it all..Dom and Shaun ARE funny. I know who gives me belly laughs out of this lot..Dom, Gillian and Shaun

Totally disagree. If anything I think a lot have of people have stopped watching because they were fed up of seeing Gillian doing (or rather not doing) all the trials. Once she goes and they start to see other people the viewing figures will go up again.

the sooner she is voted out the better IMO, it has made this years IAC terrible. I would rather see a mix of people doing the trials instead of her feble atempts!!

I don't mind her being in there. She has a certain entertainment value - even if it's for all the wrong reasons and she has the ability to annoy the other inmates.

But it will be nice to see other people have a chance to do some trials. Jenny and Kalya doing a double trial could be interesting as they're such great friends or anything involving Alison and a small box.

This year has definitely shown why there should be a live feed from the camp. Apart from McKeith the campmates are almost invisible. It's not fair to viewers and it's hardly fair to the other campmates. They signed up to live in the jungle and be watched on TV. They are living jungle life 24 hours a day but viewers get to see just a few minutes of each person each day. In fact, in some cases we see only a few seconds a day.

Soon we start voting for who should leave and who should win but we know hardly anything about most of the campmates. The whole thing is grossly unfair.

She is the main reason I haven't been watching. I did watch once, it may have been Tuesday, and I can't even think about it now without hearing her decayed paper voice distorting and manipulating.

I'm not watching again until she's at least a much smaller part of the show.

If she is the reason why people are watching, and IAC's natural viewing figures are horribly low, then IAC has outlived its time and should be axed.

Perhaps many of the non-viewers would be watching the show if they could see much more of the other people in the camp.

The whole format of the show and the coverage by the producers has allowed Gillian McKeith to hijack it and turn it into the MeMeMe Show.

The one-hour show on ITV1 is much too short to give decent coverage of all the campmates.

Well said, Veri, and I completely agree. It shocks me how people find her entertaining AND she's pandered to because it 'boosts' viewing figures!! What have we come to?

I miss the days when we could watch the live feed - or rather the 12 hours behind live feed! That gave a much better chance to get to know the celebrities.

It would explain a few things if the live feed was delayed then. I've been wondering why people were clamouring for it when all they would get would be Shaun snoring all night.

That last sentence has sent me into a stupid fit of giggles.

Thank you

If Gillian McKeith is the only thing keeping people watching, then maybe ITV just aren't very good at choosing celebs to take part and should scrap the show altogether? It was the same with Katie Price last year, relying on one person for the viewing figures, total madness!

I don't really believe that the show is tired, but the way they go on, you'd think they did.

I don't know whether ITV could have predicted Gillian's monopolising the show though. I certainly never saw her beforehand as a central figure.
