Yep, give it another week or two and it will be a case of familiarity breeds contempt.

I've mentally prepared myself for Ann & Anton to get lots of votes for their Rumba though!

I've prayed to the Good Lord to see justice done - but I think perhaps Ann and the Pope have a direct line to God so my prayers will be in vain.

Matt is top of the public vote, from Scott

Then it is Ann

Fourth is Gavin

And it is very tight between Kara, Pamela and Patsy

I suspect, if she makes the final, I'll end up not even making an effort to watch. Or if I did, it would be in the hope the other couples wins.

I've prepared myself somewhat for Ann making the final, and possibly winning. That way, I'm either going to get what I expect, or be pleasantly surprised. So I have nothing to lose really.

But she's wearing trousers!

Surely that means she's gone this weekend!

Aaarrrrgggh! I've just realised!

I don't usually watch the final live because it coincides with friends' regular mulled wine and mince pies party, but this year they're holding it on the Friday. It'll be just my luck that she does make it to the final for the first time I'll be able to watch it live in years.

So, I'll be giving it a miss in any case

If she makes the final I might just throw something very hard at the tele - but every cloud has a silver lining, I've been thinking of having the tv mounted on the wall over the fireplace; perhaps this is just the incentive I need.

Oh no. Lets hope you get a happy final then! *Fingers Crossed*

It's my birthday over the semi-final weekend, so I'm hoping for a nice birthday present. *fingers crossed* Especially since I may not get to watch it until the 13th.

For what it's worth, today's popbitch newsletter said that Ann's vote was falling heavily, the joke was wearing thin, and that the top of the vote is between Scott and Matt. I have no idea what they base that on, but they said newspaper claims that Ann's leading the vote were wrong. It was part of a story also saying that Wagner's vote on XF was nowhere near the top like the papers were claiming.

eta: sorry just seen the popbitch story quoted on another thread! Sorry for the repetition.

Don't be sorry. Anything that dispells the Ann disinformation is good. The hype is deafening and it's about time it stopped, not least for the sake of the other contestants, who are just left standing in the shadows.

popbitch has a pretty good track record and so I'm keeping my fingers crossed they're right on this one.

footygirl, your post is interesting - is it up to date? Do we dare ask about your source ...?

Widdy-Wagner have their work cut out

Those leaks from the X Factor camp about how
Wagner's in the top three? Our ITV insider
says "no way". He's only been a few votes
off the bottom two almost every week.
The Widdy vote over on Strictly is starting to
collapse too as the joke's starting to pall.
So why are the vote Widdy-Wag stories
everywhere? Surely not to manufacture a little
controversy and make sure they get your money,
sorry, votes, eh? Unless a vast number of
non-viewers are mobilised in an anti-reality
show protest, Matt/One Direction and Matt/Scott
are still the likely XF and Strictly champs.”

Even if that article's correct, it still won't result in the best dancer so far winning SCD this year

I didn't say that. What I'm saying is that many people don't give a damn what is written in the newspapers, because they don't decide if or who they're going to vote for until they actually watch the show. Not everyone spends all week thinking about Strictly, watching ITT or even reading the entertainment stories in a newspaper for that matter.

But Strictly has rarely been about that anyway - Ann or no Ann.

Neither Darren, nor Tom, nor Chris were the best dancers of their respective series.

I agree. And Matt or Scott are much better than Chris, maybe a bit better than Tom, and not that far behind of the best dancer. Can't comment on Darren as I wasnt watching then.

After putting a request when my daughter was ill I refuse to do so over such trival matters - I hope that he won't listen to hers. I do however have everything crossed that she goes this week.

It's a question of degrees though ain't it? Darren, Tom and Chris weren't the worst dancers in their series either - all of them were in the top three or four dancers for their series - lets face the standard overall wasn't high last year.

Maybe, but at least those three could dance, made the effort to improve throughout the series and were entertaining for the right reasons.
