I personally agree that dresses are always best for dancing, but it's not the 1950s! Women should be able to wear what they want and we should just hope that their personal taste (and the influence of the costume department) is more inclined towards dresses.

No i don't think trousers should be banned, they can look great on the right person. I thought Ann looked much better in her trousers than the tents she usually wears.

The point is, some clothes work for some people for some dances.

Odd sort of thread to see as 2011 is almost upon us but each to their own i guess.

Anyway, depends on the routine, trousers can look very elegant on a lady and there have been many horrible cheap and nasty looking dresses danced in over the years.

I think this gets ballroom into its proper perspective. The dances are centuries old and belong to a different era. However most dance is about foreplay and the woman wearing trousers is giving the wrong message.
