Judges

We still get inane generalisations from Alisha and will continue to do so forever more. Obviously, the BBC will not admit their mistake in firing Arleen and so will never bring her back. They could, however, realise that Karen Hardy, is more able to be a judge than most. Her expert and lucid comments, together with her charm and personality make her the perfect choice to replace the useless Alisha, who should stick to her singing, which she does rather well.

Craig is the star of the judges panel and always clearly states what is correct and what is incorrect with all the routines, provided Bruce lets him finish what he wants to say.

I love Craig and think he is the best judge on the panel.. Jason Gardiner could learn lessons from him in the way to be Mr Nasty in a nice way.

yup, have agreed with what Craig has said for most of this series - the good and the bad

Craig's star is waining, its time for him to be put out to pasture.

Nonsense. He's the only judge that's prepared to use the full range of points available to him and justify the differentials. The leader board would make much more sense if the other judges followed his example.

I think someone recently pointed out here that Karen has said that she wouldn't wish to be a judge due to her close relationships with many of the professionals.

If Karen Hardy was a judge it would show up Len and Bruno for the useless judges they are. They won't have that.

Exactly! He's consistent in his marking. Getting high points from Craig really means something to the contestants.

I know you love Ann, Terry - but her inability to dance doesn't make Craig a bad judge. He's the only one who's always honest.

Arlene
hj[mm could only ever talk about feet and hands in general terms because she has no ballroom or latin training. She was comments were usually highly acidic and often bordering on offensive. Let's face it she wasn't sacked she was moved sidewas to So You Think You Can Dance.

Craig as Highlighted by James the other week does not have the knowledge of the dances. He scatters names of steps to make it look like he knows something. Like Arlene he usually only talks about feet and hands in general terms because he does not have the technical knowledge of the dances

This year it appears that the basic rules of the dances are being ignored by the judges. Kara & Artems American Smooth that clearly wasn't because they were not in hold at all should have had all the judges marking them down as has previously happened with lifts.

I do agree with you about Alesha as a judge. Her singing is not my taste.

Says you - you seem to be a minority of one on this one. He's the last one I'd get rid - the truth hurts sometimes doesn't it?

I don't think Craig is flawless and if Len could be bothered to judge properly then he'd be the most valid judge but it seems that his judging is based as much on mood and how much he likes a contestant or pro then the quality of what's produced. Yes perhaps Kara's routine was content light but it was no worse than Patsy's the previous week which was unrecognisable as a VW - at least the AS is supposed to be a looser dance.

Craig is the only judge who I have agreed with this year; Len is behaving like an idiot at times, Alesha can't speak proper English like what others do. And Bruno. Don't get me started on that hyperactive little kid. The 'Scotttttttttt' thing is getting beyond a joke now, and I am almost throwing something at the TV when he starts.

I would support the OP if SCD was a just a dancing competition, but its not.

From what I remember of the snide remarks on ITT over the years, it's more like some of the other pros can't stand her mentioning no names. (Brendan, James)

I think Craig's marks and comments are the only ones which are truly meaningful. If you get a 10 from Craig you know you've really earned it (unless you are Lisa Snowden and you have hypnotised/bodysnatched/blackmailed him - still can't explain her marks). Sometimes I think the way he phrases his remarks is a little too deflating to the contestants but at least he is sincere and consistent. Aleesha's grammar never bothers me, I just find her boring and inane with little to contribute to the judging.

Oooops! I meant Alesha - can't criticise her and then misspell her name.

Arlene wasn't really sidelined so she could do So You Think ...... Nigel Lythegoe is very much in charge of that show, what he says goes. He and Arlene have been friends for many many years, and once it was agreed So You Think .... would come to UK (which was after Arlene had left scd) he wanted her as a judge. The decision was entirely down to him, nothing to do with the bbc.

BBC Please bring back Arlene. I cannot take this show seriously with that idiot judge Alesha.

I don't want Arlene back. I thought she was seriously annoying.

I don't like Alesha much either, but she doesn't abuse alliteration and slobber over the male contestants.

Karen would do my head in. She... talks... so... slow... ly...

I do think Alesha has improved this series - in fact at times she appears the most sane one on the panel!

Actually, when they did that diet dancing show together, it was Matt Cutler who was the more impartial, incisive judge. Even some of those who like Karen are getting fed up of her time on Choreography Corner, precisely because she appears to have an inability to negatively criticise anything.

Totally agree! He is easily the fairest judge there and always makes perfect sense to me when he's on ITT.
