Thanks. I've gone through some hard times. Especially in that particular thread. I spent the last nine pages trying to get away! And to kill the thread of course. If only I knew how to lock it......

I've had some good times on this forum. From the thread which you were supposed to write ONE sentence of an episode, to the Whoonie Inn and from Series 5 speculation to "David tennant! How dare you!"

Its been a rough ride, but its been worth it. Its been fun and glorious. And life changing. Yes, it has. From this Forum, and this Forum alone, I have learnt that everyone has a right to an opinion and Sally Sparrow is ALWAYS involved!

Here at college, when I have been given Wednesdays with giant gaps between lectures, I have needed shelter from the boredom and loneliness of simply waiting for time to pass. This forum has offered me that. This forum, rose out of the darkness of absolute boredom and insanity, like the Lady of the Lake and handed me a world in which all people were fans like me. Where all fans cherished those saturday nights with the family watching a Timelord in a Tardis. Where all people cared for the show. Maybe not as much as they did. Maybe they don't like the show compared to how it used to be..........Ting....but even then, they still see the light of how great the show really is.

People complain about John Nathan Turner, or Gay agendas, but people love the show for what it is and thats why they watch. They still tune in for change because deep down, the show means a lot to them and thats why they're loyal fans. Even if Matts to young, or Deux ex Machinmas get on everyones nerves. They still settle down to watch a show that fundamentally hasn't changed since its beginning. Since its dawn. A show that Millions watch, A show that millions laugh with, a show that millions hide behind the sofa because of.

THATS what makes Doctor Who great. Thats what makes this forum so special. Thats why I love this forum and will not be leaving it the near or far future. Its a place where people who love the show gather to love the show. They don't have to be Trivia-no-it-alls or costume wearers, they could just be your average Joe, who likes to pop off to the "I'm a celebrity" forum after a nice bit of Who talk. And all these fans can gather in a place without hatred, or rivalry, or too much nerdisms. All these people, with a common interest can gather on cold nights, in front of the computers after a Christmas special to discuss one actors departure from the show. To discuss cameos, and plot twists, and trailers and clips. To discuss all those things and just simply, to discuss why Doctor Who rests in all there hearts, and always will.

I remember that thread quite wistfully. To start with, Dalekaddison, I thought you were a mad person; after a while, I just felt sorry for you when you realised you'd created The Thread That Would Not Die. It was quite endearing, as you got more and more desperate.

Best to keep the politics in the politics forum, eh?! (mwah!)

Always happy to oblige, anway, anyone who can make fun of themselves (as you have done continuously since you started that immortal thread - e.g. I remember your services), is a hero in my books (even if I don't share your political allegiances).

I'm very tempted to put a post on the thread though, to get it back on the first page.

You know that Labour was planning on doing whatever the Browne review said right? Just like the Tories. The only ones who said they'd do anything different were the Lib Dems. That worked well

Well, it worked a bit, considering both Labour and Tories, if left to their own devices, would have bought the original far worse version of Browne. The LibDems changed it for the better (raising the income threshold, making it more progressive etc.).

The LibDems only have 8% of MPS, 90% of MPs were in favour of an unmodified Browne. Not sure what you expected? Even two thirds of students still voted for increased fees (of the 50% that bothered to vote).

I can remember I wrote something about that thread bu I can't remember exactly what. Something like, I started that thread! Don't shoot me! Something like that anyway.

And yes, I did bite off more than I could chew with that thread. Its always good to roll with the punchs and laugh at myself. I always am. I'm such an idiot sometimes.

I remember a time, back when I was wee......er. That we had a climbing frame. My brother will lecture you about this for ages, but, we both wanted to head off to do stuff so we deicided to jump off and do synchronised landings! Anyway, he landed perfectly, sort of movie style, but I got my leg stuck and landed face first into the ground. It was like a scene from a comedy movie! And we still laugh about it now!

And if you DARE start the forum up again......

Also, I'd lke to nominate the Whoonie Inn. Its been rebooted loads of times due to loads of comments! Its such a great environment too, so 5 Daleks out of 5 for the Whoonie Inn!

I think both the Election Threads this year have been absolutely superb and I think either one of them should be in contention. Both of them were a pleasure to take part in and were so much fun, definitely reading through the posts of the other 'Party Leaders' and having that banter with them was what made it worthwhile.

And while I don't like to blow my own trumpet too much, I think the thread I started about What was Lacking in Series 5 Mid-Series seriously caused some heated debate and arguments and indeed, it carried on for several long weeks!!!!!!

Plus if there was a seperate award for the thread that never seemed to finish, it has to be be the one about Norton-Gate after The Time Of Angels had been transmitted. That went on for a lot longer than necessary and despite some very clear hints from myself and others to let it lie after the BBC had apologised and sent out their standard e-mails, it just kept rumbling on!!!!!!

To be honest I expected them to fold as soon as they got any real power, like all politicians.

Putting my low expectations aside I hoped they would use the right they negotiated in their coalition agreement to abstain.

ps: My local MP is Stephan Williams. He made a very big deal about pledging to stop fees. His promises are still visible on the Lib Dems web site. I am sure you can guess his stance now
