Thanks for posting the clip - very interesting. I'm not surprised that Brendan praised Scott (Natalie is his dancing partner, after all), but I am surprised that he said what he did about Patsy. Hmmm. What is going on behind the scenes that is distracting her from the Strictly experience?

Nice to see the support for Kara.

pretty obvious to support Scott and natalie.
I thought it was unnecessary for brendan to mention that about patsy. If we can't see it or he does not elaborate he should not mention it, it is unfair to her, not that she is my favourite or anything. Maybe she is a bit like her caracter in holby, a bit manipulative.
Loved that ali supported kara. In a way they are similar dancers, but kara is so much more engaging.

He didnt single Patsy out, they were asked to comment on all the celebs and they did so. The fact he wasnt as complimentary about Patsy as the others is rather telling, but not necessarily unfair.

About Natalie being his "partner." They have been put together on the show for the pro dances, but they arent a true dance partnership like the Jordans, Erin and Anton, Vincent and Flavia etc. I am sure he will have stronger relationships with other pros on the show and can't see him being biased toward Natalie at all in this respect.

I think the bit in bold is the key. I like Brendan but he can be quite bitchy. In general, people seem to really like her behind the scenes and in any case it's subjective.

Bit unfair of Brendan to criticise her on national tv.

I agreed with the comments about Kara but not about Scott and Matt. I had to laugh when they all said at once "Don't show his samba" and Alan said the samba was the clip they had. The thing with Scott is that he's OK at the footwork and the head posture but from his knees to his neck he seems to have the all the rhythm, flexibility and mobility of a broomstick.

I agree that the contestants should stick to the moves of the dance (one reason why I agreed with Len's comments and scoring of Kara last week) but I found it rich coming from Brendan, the king of showboating and illegal moves and lifts.

Brendan was a huge supporter of Aled , they got on like a house on fire , but he really did not like Mark Ramprakash ; Mark confirms this in his book .
On the other hand James and Mark were good mates on the show.

Perhaps Brendan meant the only person holding Patsy back, is Patsy.

I agree and said as much on another thread.

The guy's an idiot. I don't know why TV shows continue to give him the time of day.

I don't think the opinions of professional ballroom and latin dancers should be tossed aside so easily lol. If it's about personality, then by all means disregard their opinions but when it comes to dancing, they know what they're talking about and just because they may be harshly honest about someone you like is no reason to dismiss them out of hand and call them bitchy.

I agree in principle. The issue, inmho, is when someone hints at something "behind the scenes" and does not elaborate (brendan), or when someone criticism is too harsh without giving any benefit of the doubt (Lillia).
At the end it looks like both are bitchy which is not good for them.

Now if Brendan had said, "oh I wish Patsy did more hours training so she could be amazing", or "Patsy has a poor foot (she did mentioned it on ITT), so she trains in trainers which at the end makes it more difficult, poor thing", he would imply that she is not doing all she can but at the same time being sympathetic and hence not bitchy at all. It would honest and likeable.

Likewise, Lillia could have said "I am guessing Robin goes off time to connect with Patsy, I am hoping that they can fix it up next week." Again, the underlaying criticism is there but not in a bitchy way, more elaborating on the idea why that could happen and giving him the benefit of the doubt. Not bitchy but informative.
