I don't even know why I record and then watch this show. It's rubbish.

There's no excitement at all about the fired contestant appearing.

And there's no excitement at all once that's happened.

I've watched a few shows now.....and this show is seriously a waste of space.

Absolute no suspense whatsoever. It should just be erradicated.

I like Dara a lot, but I much preferred 'You're Fired' with Chiles at the helm. I found him more incisive and actually, I found the show as funny, if not funnier, than now, and Chiles isn't even a comedian.

Me too.

But it wasn't even that. There was an air of menace that was almost like being in the headmaster's study for doing a naughty deed.

Whereas this show is like a pat on the back for being out.

I've only watched it when it's been worth seeing the ex-candidates (like Alex, Melissa, and Paloma).

Didn't bother to watch it when Christopher was on it or a few others; will only watch it again if either Stella or Liz appear

It could be better if they had more analysis and unseen footage.

As it is, it's OK. It gives another look at the candidates. Usually they seem much nicer on You're Fired. It is a chance to mock them, although not too severely. Occasionally interesting things emerge, such as Paloma admitting to lying in the boardroom.

Lol ! - you know, I was thinking about that, and to be honest, I've not found him to be watchable; yes, he may act all funny, but that's just it; he's playing up to the camera (IMO anyway).

I like it. Some of the editing is absolute genius. I loved the week they did the clips of Melissa going on and on and they had a woodpecker. Don't like the Irish version of the You're Fired show. The host is really weird and I had to stop watching it because of him

Oh, is the host still Brendan O'Connor? Yeah, he's a knob.

No it's some dude called Anton Savage who I'd never heard of before the show. He does this weird smiling face that's really off putting.

I think he used to write for the Sunday Independent, but I've never seen him on telly. He can't be much worse than O'Connor though. But actually Brendan O'Connor writes for the Sunday Independent so maybe that's how that Savage guy got the presenting gig.

Never watched it but I hear they have Roisin Ingle as a guest so that's enough evidence for me to decide it's a heap of shit.

I don't read the Times but I've never heard anyone say anything good about her. What's her deal?

I don't mind you're fired though I felt Christopher was a little under used. It felt like he just sat for the majority whilst the panel talked about stuart

Much prefer Dara's version than Chiles' previous efforts - Adrian was good when it started, but towards the end it had really tailed off, and wouldn't have been a surprise if they'd cancelled it.

When you've got 'The Brand' still in there, and giving you as much material as he does each week, it's only natural that they focus on him - especially when the fired guest isn't that interesting, or hasn't made a major impression. Whether you like or hate Stuart, he is the Wagner of this year's show

Oh YES! Anton Savage, the host - he looks presentable, but my goodness, someone needs to tell him that 'You're Fired' isn't bloody newsnight - it's supposed to be light-hearted! I've tried to watch the Irish 'You're Fired', but I usually switch off before the end. The show is so long - ad breaks don't help - but more than that, it's tedious.

Seriously, you UK citizens who bemoan Dara O'Briain - thank your lucky stars!

He's the son of Terry Prone (Carr Communications) and someone called Savage - maybe Tom Savage.

He's got good teeth, but he'd be much better suited to doing some (low-rate) current affairs programme.

I think the shows main problem is its basically become just a televised recap of the previous episode. Is it just me, or in past years did they show a lot more unseen footage and deleted scenes?

Aahh, Terry Prone's kid. That explains a lot. Good old nepotistic Ireland!

Agreed. Dara isn't quite right for the job. Adrian Chiles has a self deprecating manner than can obscure just how good he is. I used to watch Working Lunch when he was the anchorman. When doing interviews he managed to be relaxed and natural yet also to ask the penetrating questions the viewers wanted asked, and his chatty manner put interviewees off guard so they gave more candid answers than they would have to Paxman, say.

Agreed. I like Chiles and think he is wasted on fluff like The One Show and Daybreak. But I guess money talks.

I'll always stick up for him though, when people question his smarts.

He's not right for the show, in my opinion.

I much prefer Dara to Adrian Chiles who you could see gradually disappearing up his own backside as the years on YBF went by. Dara is much more down to earth and natural in my view and a lot of the humour is ad libed.

If anything I think the Apprentice (and therefore YBF) this year has suffered a bit from having too many candidates from a very similar age range / background/ personality set. It almost feels as though with each passing series there is now a 'charachiture' set of Apprentice candidates and so on YBF it kind of seems like they are interviewing the same person every week. Ironically Christopher probably was one of the least 'indentikit' candidates on this year but didn't seem to feature much in the YBF interview.

I went to the recording of your fired last night, they obviously film a lot more than half hour probably filmed about 1 hour 20 minutes in total. So there is a lot of unseen footage but they obviously have to edit it down to half hour.

I think Dara is fine just as I felt Adrian was fine, it also depends what the panel are like, I thought last nights were excellent but this might not come across as much on the actual show as they may have cut out the better/funnier bits for one reason or another.
