Hi all,

There have been no, I repeat NO official announcements, but people are saying on Twitter - including an Emmerdale writer - that Gavin Blyth passed away last night.

Does anybody know anything? I'm so sorry if I'm spreading false info based only on a few Twitter posts, I know that's not on, but it does seem unlikely that anyone would lie about this.

What awful news if this is true.

Oh my goodness.

My sympathy with all his family if he has really passed away.

He was a fantastic producer, I wonder who will replace him?

omg how awful! just seen these on twitter, none of the other cast seem to have anything on theirs at the moment which is to be expected as they would all be in shock. hope its not true!

I don't know if we can take it as confimation or not but Susie Hill from the Star tweeted before:

She has now tweeted that emmerdale are currently putting together a statement about it and it will be out shortly.

Such a shame my thoughts go out to the Emmerdale cast and crew and his family and friends - Emmerdale won't be the same. RIP Gavin

Thats awful if it is true. He really did turn Emmerdale around into an amazing show after the awful comedy era 2 years ago.

Yeah i know So Clever in everything he did one thing what he done was brilliant was that about 80% of the cast was involved in a big storyline on the show now how many other soaps can boast that!

That's really awful. I remember when he was just a press mn and helped with the emmerdale.org some years back now. Then he left and went to do other things before coming back to Emmerdale as producer. I had given up on Emmerdale by the time he took over as producer, but from what I've read he was doing better things with it than Kath Beedles and seemed to care about the show's past.

How old was he? Can't be that old?

His poor family.

Terrible news . RIP to Gavin and my condolonces to his family, friends, and the Emmerdale crew. He was a jewel to Emmerdale and sadly it won't be the same without him
