Twitter petition to get Aiden signed
I see there is a Twitter petition - Twition - to get Aiden a record deal. How long does Cowell have an option on him - until after the tour, or what?? Assuming he will want to sign 1D and Cher at least, presumably this would be quite enough for Syco and the affiliated management, so at what point are the other contestants released to do their own thing?

Maybe if all the people on Twitter who have signed it had actually voted for him....

Why...everyone was so excited to get him on the tour and now that he's on it they want him signed.
You can't have both at once.... Personally I wish he doesn't get signed as he won't commit any more crimes to music and taste. |

Yawn, how tedious and predictable some of you are. No doubt Shirley will pop up later, ho hum. I asked a sensible question and am sure someone will actually read my post and come up with the requested information in due course. Others, get a life! Thank you.

Twitter campaign to get Gurner Grimshaw signed? As what, a new type of Muppet? A Halloween scare mask?
I was glad he got the bullet from the show and miss him about as much as I'd miss leprosy |

I misread this as a petition to get him sectioned.

They are all tied into the contract they signed until after the tour at which point Simon will either sign him himself or Aiden will be able to talk to other record companies / management. They also have an agent who looks after Aidens personal appearances until the tour finishes. Again, he can either choose to stay with them or move. Love him or loathe him I think that he's here to stay!

He doesn't need a petition, he'll get signed on his own anyway whether by a major or independent lable. With the amount of people from last year who are releasing an album (Joe, Olly, Jedward, Lucie, Lloyd and Danyl come to mind), I'm sure many will from this year aswell, even if it is just independent and Aiden is sure to be one of them. I would prefer a major deal though for him personally, away from Syco aswell please.

So that's how people get signed? I thought it was down to talent and / or being in the right place at the right time. Being crap and in Blackpool on a wet and windy day in November is maybe not quite the handicap I was imagining it would be.
Aiden has the capability of being the breakout star of this series. With the right songs and direction, there is a huge gap in the market for a young male singer such as himself. |

So as to make you feel better if he is on tour they can not sign him until after that. If people think petitioning will help it won't just because they nagged to get him on the tour, people now think another nag will get him signed. You can't beg for something unless he has the discernible talent to do so. And please stop throwing your toys out of the pram. Thank you. |

Yep it's about 6 months.
I hope he gets released early so he can go on to do better things. Aiden can play and write music, he knows exactly what his musical identity is, so we're all confident he'll get signed soon ![]() It's also been reported that the tour tickets have rocketed after his inclusion on the tour. He is quite a rocket man (awful pun alert)

Why does he need a record deal these days?
All he needs is a band, a Myspace page and a bit of recording and mixing equipment and he's golden. |

Signed or sectioned?
He's got more hope of the latter. |

Of course, this is perfectly possible. But, ideally, an established label who can distribute physical as well as digital product, invest in advertising and tour support, provide press, radio and tv promo and who have international affiliates would be the best option. And the best booking agents would be more likely to get involved because the whole set-up would be more professional.
In all honesty if they were looking to market a singer like that, it would be far easier to get a stage school kid and manufacture a image. He lacks any stage presence and his on screen personality is non existant. People on here are more annoyed he lost out to katie than him actually going. |

He's bound to a contract for another 6 months. Simon will only sign the winner to his label and 1Direction (if they don't win), the others will be offered a contract by either Epic or RCA records...or they'll do their own thing elsewhere.
I think Syco will be able to take on 2 new acts as Joe and Shayne will be dropped anyway within the next 6 months. |

If I had a label I'd sign him in a flash.
As a solo artist or put him as lead vocal in a band. |

Ok say he get's all those things plus song writers etc, at some point he's going to have to go out and do interviews which given talking segments would be like watching paint dry.

Aiden will get better, and in fact he has. If you watch his recent interviews, he's so jokey and humorous, and rather flirtatious! I could go on about how being interviewed in front of 15 million sort of freaked him out etc but we all know that. |

Being realistic no one on that show if they walked in to a record company would come out with a contract. Singing cover songs is not talent, it just means you're good at karaoke.
Ricky Gervais had it spot on when he spoke about Susan Boyle, he said her voice isn't that great it's that fact that she looks like a mong (his word) that got peoples attention. No one no matter how much you like her could deny this |
