You might be slim, but you don't sound very healthy and slim people can still get heart attacks etc, it's not all about the aesthetics. My other half is the same and gets exactly the same lecture from me

I can, put on a little weight as you get older. Still have to watch those arteries though, just because you stay thin doesn't mean the fat is staying in there.

I have a fast metabolism too, but still try to eat as varied a diet as possible.
On holiday/Xmas time I do put on a few lbs but they're fairly easy to take care of. If you're eating loads of crap OP, maybe a little detox would be a good idea? You may not be porky, but perhaps your skin isn't in good condition, your hair lank/greasy? Just a thought. |

I was once put on a 4,000 calorie a day diet by my dietician for six weeks.
At the end of the six weeks I had lost 3lb. |

I suspect the OP is below middle age and has a quick metabolism. I was like that and as thin as a rake (9 stone) until I hit my late 30's and then very slowly I started to gain weight. I am now steady at 11 stone and I have to watch it otherwise it starts creeping up again. The joys of getting older...

As others have said - it's a metabolism thing which will probably at some point slow down.
I was the same until my mid 20's - very very sedentary life style but could eat and drink anything. Then the pounds came piling on. I know have a job which means I'm on my feet walking around, going up and down stairs virtually all day - and still the tummy is there. Lord knows what size I'd be if I had a desk job. |

A friend of mine's husband was very slim and did a manual job. He had to have a quadruple heart by-pass.

I was like that when I was younger. I used to have a lovely fattening M&S dessert every day at work and not put on a pound - much to some of my colleagues' amazement. I used to actually lose weight easier than I could put it on. All changed when I got into my 30s.

i'm the same I assume I must have a high metabalism and so never but on anyway.
I'd actually not mind adding a bit of weight \ muscle but even taking protein shakes etc never had any affect on me |
