Could Neighbours ever get 2m again for its tea-time slot?
As the title asks, is there anyone on this messageboard from the television industry who knows the ins-and-outs and whether this is even possible?

I think it is worth remembering that no show will ever get massive ratings again with multi-channels now available, more and varied ways to watch and increased competition. |

Anything is possible...it becomes more possible as we approach digital switch over.

Coronation Street & EE get 10million Strictly Gets 9m Neighbours COULD get 2 million if its tea-time showing was the first showing and the lunchtime showing was a repeat. |

Er. The X Factor & BGT get 15 million +

What I am getting at is the days of 21 million watching Neighbours...or 30 million watching Eastenders are long past. 8 or 9 million is considered good these days. |

It got 1.66mil just a few weeks ago and has been getting a few 1.5 - 1.6mil episodes. It does need to improve though. It needs time and as long as they have learnt from their mistakes, I think it is quite possible next year.
I like the idea of having it be the first episode of that day, with the repeats following. That would certainly boost the ratings over 2mil. |

On a snowy day in January, it might hit 2m for a teatime screening, including timeshifts.

I'll be a cold day in hell before I watch either Neighbours or Home & Away again. They are programmes for teenagers, I loved both as a teenager but I wouldn't watch them now. They are so twee and backwards, its like slipping into a timewarp when you watch them and not in a good way.

Monday 15th episode (Rebecca revealing to Kate and the viewers that she pushed Paul) got 1.75mil, so it is looking good for 2mil.

Its getting better, they need to get a new EP to turn it around, new characters are needed too and some axing needs to happen fast.
Personally, i dont see anything wrong with watching neighbours or home and away. i used to watch them as a teen, but now i watch whilst cooking dinner and eating if im in. |
