Apparently she was on the radio this morning talking about her showdance for the final. Both her and Anton are going to fly and Anton is working on the dance at the moment. Whether this shows arrogance or whether she actually knows she is going to be in the final I'm not sure. But it certainly sounds like the BBC are laying on all the equipment in preparation for their showdance. Both Ann and Anton have been too confident for my liking that they WILL be dancing certain dances weeks before they actually do them. I thought it odd when Anton was asking for song suggestions for the rumba back in the middle of October. Knowing they wouldn't be dancing it until the end of November he was certainly optimistic! Knowing how rubbish Ann was I think most of the pro's would have thougth there was no chance they'd still be in it then. Can't help thinking the whole thing has been set up for Ann and Anton to make the final.

No one I know likes her on a personal level. They all find her arrogant and odious.

I get the impression she spends all her week thinking of witty retorts for the judges rather than learning to dance.

The joke (as poor as it was) has worn wafer thin.

That said I'm with Suze with regards the over reactionary 'end of strictly' drivel. Its an entertainment show for heaven's sake. There have always been poor dancers defying the axe and ridiculous judging decisions. The show would be duller without them.

I hope the judges get taken to task for their scoring this week and after defending her last series I think Alesha has regressed this year and should be replaced. I also hope Ann doesn't make the final (I think she will get knocked out in the semi)... that said whatever the outcome nothing I've seen this season has made me want to stop watching.

They will all be planning and training for future weeks, it would be daft if they didn't. It doesn't mean any of them consider they are a shoo in for the finals.

I've actually grown rather fond of old Widdy. She's clearly having the time of her life, and you can tell that she and Anton are becoming much closer (they're a lot more touchy-feely now). I'm glad she doesn't take the show too seriously. She doesn't get wound-up and competitive; she argues with the "judges", who are basically just vastly overpaid seat-fillers; she doesn't blather on about "journeys" and how it's "changed her life" etc etc. because she knows its only a bloody dance programme; she has bucketloads of personality and character and clearly stands out from the ranks of bland washed-up soap actors that normally fill the show. Old Widdy is the life of the party, and I'm pleased to see she's pissing a lot of people off!
I have to say I agree with you.

Yes imagine the reaction if she makes the Final and says on live tv er hand the trophy to the other couple as we didn't prepare a show dance as we didn't think we'd be here.....

She has to go next week, imo. If Scott/Kara/Matt/Pamela go over her, I will not be happy. I have a feeling Gavin will be going next week though, and he is one of the weakest, but he shouldn't be going over Ann.

Patsy shouldn't have left before Gavin, but that's the nature of the show.

Sometimes I watch her interviews and VT's and I wonder if she's deliberately being obnoxious and arrogant to lose support. Sadly though I just think thats what she's like.

I don't think the BBC can guarantee anyone gets to the final but they have made her route easier by the sequence of dances she's had. She's still got two of the fastest dances left in the Jive and Cha-Cha-Cha.

Nope. I think Craig is great and an excellent judge but he is never going to learn that comments like that lead to phone votes.
I think Craig's past caring, she'd have stayed in even if he hadn't said it. Nothing any of the judges say could get rid of her. I don't even think it would incite many extra people to vote either, it looks like Ann's supporters vote for her regardless of her performance or the judges comments.

I thought her comment 'We trust the voters to keep us out of the Bottom Two' was code for ' We know the voters clearly don't give a damn about dancing and just want a laff, so we expect to be in the Final'.

HELP!!!

Ann Widdecombe needs to see a shrink!

Thoughs ppl please?????
I was surprised by her comment too.... I had been mildly amused by her 'self awareness and sense of irony' but she seems to be taking the competitive side of things pretty seriously. I'm not quite so amused now! I won't be surprised to see her in the bottom two next week after those comments.

Its good to hear that Ann is taking the show seriously she is well aware and grateful that her fans are spending their money voting to keep her there. There is no way The Widdy from Oz dancing down her yellow brick road is going to put her in the bottom two on Saturday, it will win her masses of new fans.
