I didn't notice this last night but in previous weeks have thought Liam didn't look particularly comfortable with the other four alongside him. I was actually very surprised when he didn't make it through to the judges' houses as a soloist as I thought his auditions were incredible. Unfortunately he hasn't come close to that sort of standard since being in the group so either
a) the judges were right and he isn't actually good enough as a soloist - after all we only saw clips in the audition shows rather than full songs
b) he's not suited to being in a group and it's affecting his performance
It does seem like they are pushing Harry as he's the one the girls fancy. I remember reading a story a couple of weeks ago about tension in the group as to who was getting the most attention and Liam's mum wading in saying he was bound to be the most popular as he already had a following.
I thought Simon's comments last night were totally to pander to the Harry fans - suggesting a song is no big deal, but Simon was talking as if Harry had written the damn thing! I thought Harry responded very well, he seems like a lovely boy, he's just a very weak singer! The praise of Zain was no doubt in response to all of us who say he is only there for his looks. I have to say Zain's weak singing kinda proved that for me.
The Wands really have to win this to have any hope of a career. I know the majority of successful boy bands are put together by their management but the difference here is that they have been given no time to gel - if they'd been put together without the live shows looming, I imagine the final line-up would not include at least 3 of the current mob. Given Simon's obsession with putting groups together, I don't know why he doesn't go back to the Popstars the Rivals format and do it properly.
