FOXSAT HDR - ITV1 HD always seems to have slightly out of sync sound
Connected via HDMI to TV.
All other channels including SD ITV1 are perfectly in sync all the time. ITV1 HD is out of sync a lot of the time though. Even when its recorded. HAs anyone else had this problem? |

I ask because I use an external system using the ARC (audio return channel)HDMI.I find synchronisation pretty much perfect. Not all TV's are ARC capable yet as it's a pretty new thing. |

LG telly perchance? Some models can't handle the sound from HDMI properly.

I have found that if it is not possible to adjust the audio-synch on the Foxsat so that it is spot on for every channel.

Change ypur postcode to a Manchester one to get ITV1-HD Granada which is the full 1920 x 1080 but only has a lpcm sound track this should sort out the lipsync issues. You can then use customise channels to put your local BBC regions at 101 and 102
You've been a great help |

It's not LPCM but MPEG1 Layer 2 (MP2) stereo at 192kbps.
The pictures are mpeg2/mpeg4 but again the box outputs it as analogue or digital video. |

It's transmitted as MP2 but the box outputs it as lpcm which is what the OP's TV will see.

Graham, thanks for this and please excuse my ignorance. I too have an LG TV (LH2000) but IMO I have bigger lip sync issues with BBC1 HD. Is there any postcode that will give similar results as tuning into a Manchester postcode for ITV1HD?
Thanks |

Sorry both the BBC-Hd channels have primary audio tracks in Dolby Digital. You can select the MP2 track but it's generally audo described (press the audio button on the remote). About the only thing you can do is invest in an external AV amp and speakers.

Use the lip sync adjustment
One suggestion is if someone with a LG TV could try this out. Get hold of a pair of amplified stereo speakers like the ones you would use with a computer and a stereo rca phono to stereo minisocket cable. Plug the RCA phonos into the Red/White audio out sockets on the hdr and the speakers into the stereo socket. Mute the TV speakers and check the lip synch on a BBC-HD channel. |
