I think that could be unfair for people who voted for the eventual second last placed act up until that announcement.

They make the rules up as they go along.... unfortunately, anythings expected from Syco/ITV these days.

After everyone performed both songs, the lines were already open after the first performances.

The producers must have have been worried about Wagner getting a good early voting start so decided to change it at the last minute.

How would announcing the double elimination just before the lines opened have affected your votes, to announcing it about 40 minutes after lines open?

Imagine you voted for Cher 20 minutes after the lines opened then 20 minutes later you hear it's a double elimination and next night Cher got voted out through Judges/Deadlock. You then feel totally cheated.

So you are saying you'd be more likely to vote for Cher knowing it's only only a single elimination. Why?

Why is this unfair?
It's like bringing in another relegation place in the middle of a football season.

Sorry, but I don't understand your logic at all.

If you're going to vote for Cher, you're voting for Cher (or whoever else you might like). Why does it make a difference if it's a single or double elimination?

I have by the way, but only to ask if this is breaching the guidelines.

How would your vote have chaged if you knew it was a double from the start?

What guidelines!

I think you'll find the posts are moved every week (you seem to like football analogies).

OFGS I'm fed up with all the conspiracy theories. It's been in the Ents.news all week about a double elimination.

What I'm saying is that viewers who voted straight away might have thought it was a single elimination.

They must have known beforehand that it was a double eviction as it's been all over the press for at least the last two days since I read it.

Until the end of tonight's show it was only rumoured to be a double

But that doesn't change anything. Would they have wanted to take that vote back? Why? It would be entirely different if they only said it was going to be a double elimination on tomorrow night's show but there's a whole day before the lines shut. People have ages to vote. Makes absolutely no difference.

But you vote for the contestant you want to see next week, so I does not matter.
It would matter if only was announced AFTER the lines close. then it could be a case of if I knew I would have voted twice or x amount of times.
As it stands, they may have just wanted to make sure that tehir chosen ones (whoever they may be ) were ahead on the votes.

So?
It's a vote to win/save. Those who voted to see an act perform again next week would have been unlikely to have changed their mind because 2 are going this week instead of 1.
