Leona was the most consistent

I think Alexandra was consistently good, but so were Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Robert Allen, Austin Drage and Joe McElderry IMO... to name a few!!

Alex took everything that was thrown at her and hit it out of the park. She was remarkably consistent and one of the more versatile performers that the show has had.

Joe is probably the most consistent with great performances every single week on challenging songs (Whitney Houston, Queen, George Michael, etc) that he surprisingly mastered for someone that young.

I mean the voting figures proved this - staying Top 3 every single week and then taking the title with the last 4 weeks at consistently #1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X_Factor_(UK_series_6)

I was surprised at Alexandra's figures showing close to the bottom half in the first couple of weeks and really didn't hit her stride until later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X_Factor_(UK_series_5)

Steve won every one of the live finals AND thrashed G4 in the final, getting twice as many votes as them (6 million to their 3)- his record only being beaten by Joe last year, when the viewing figures were way more than they were in that first year. That's quite impressive IMO.

She was certainly consistent...all she did was sing boring ballads. Now she has made a living out of doing just that.

And advertising deodorant! Never rated her at all

Oh and she, despite being amazing every week, actually got better!”

Agreed. I think Alexandra is probably the strongest overall contestant in the show's history. Incredibly versatile in terms of choreography, and vocally brilliant. Never coasted by doing the same thing week after week, but never dropped her level when she did something different.

Yeah definitely. I mean Joe, Leona, Rhydian were good, but they weren't different every week. Alexandra basically covered most genres and sounded fantastic. I can't think of any song that would be thrown at Alex that she wouldn't be able to make sound good.

Got to agree.

Everytime I hear the judges praising the likes of Rebecca, it just reinforces to me how utterly magnificent Alexandra Burke was.

Her vocals were flawless; she could dance; she could sing uptempo & ballads & she had amazing versatility.

Contrast that to some of the acts this series who are getting high praise & they're not a patch on Alexandra.

Found Alex kinda boring. Have no interest in her at all. Yeah...consistent though.

I agree about Rebecca. They're fawning over her because of her tone, but I think Alexandra has a unique husky, dark tone to her voice too. Plus Rebecca sounds very shaky sometimes, and Alexandra's vocals never suffered no matter what (apparently Rebecca said she sounded a bit off last week because she was walking down stairs or something!). Just see Candyman, Toxic, Relight My Fire. They were amazing performances vocally too.

EDIT: Also her versatility means that she can be so relevant, and hence she's had huge hits with her singles.
