I am not sure what is being referred to here, I know on the live show thread FMs were up in arms because she said he had connected with the song, but fail to understand why this was rude. It's a phrase that is often used by the judges, if the song is not sung well, the contestant hasn't 'connected' with the song, if they have 'connected' with the song it's generally a compliment, and means they have done a good job of performing.
ETA and while I am a Rebecca fan, I agree that certainly with 'satisfaction', she could and should have moved, the fact that she didn't was enhanced by the two girls on the platform with her, and did leave me a little disappointed.

Telling someone they connected with a song because they are a creep is what she implied.

I think Dannii was unnecessarily rude to Wagner, it was also said without any hint of humour.

She was very careful to specify that he connected with the lyrics of the song - which were all about being a creep and a weirdo, and not fitting in. I love Dannii, but it was unnecessarily bitchy of her.

"I'm a creep. I'm a weirdo. What am I doing here?"

I think it was self depricating and I think Louise' intention although you can never be sure with him.

Dannii stated the obvious. The press have been stating the same and asking the same question for weeks, as well as many people on here.

She did it on Danyl last year, says something she thinks is clever, grins and then backtracks like a hamster in a wheel when she's not applauded for it.

It happened again with Wagner last night, even looking around shocked at Cheryl for support as if we all heard and saw something totally different to what I am sure my telly showed me.

Like she really meant the subtext of the lyrics were what Wagner related to, as the fans are trying to make out.

And as for Louis, loving that he's spent how many years watching how many bad covers of a great record thinking it's about "I'm a winner". Bless!”

She comes across as very passive aggressive. I've always thought she was a bit of an ice queen and just as I'm starting to warm to her and think she'd ok, she acts like she did tonight with Wagner. If she was more assertive and sorted out her sh!t with Simon, rather than taking it out on the contestants, she could easily be the best judge. Her comments are usually spot on and I want to like her but she makes it so difficult

Lol, some people need to get a grip. It wasn't Dannii that was out of order, it was Louis for pick such a humiliating song for the guy, or should I say Simon.

I bet that you were all ****ing laughing when Wagner sang that lyric, but because Dannii told it like it is she's a bitch? Such hypocrites around here.

It's time X-factor had some new judges, some think they are indispensable, perhaps Simon will replace Danni, after all a lot of the public think that she is the best judge. Getting too big for her boots, calling Wagner in that way, tut tut Danni.

I agree with the OP.
Dannii is usually my favourite judge but she should have given credit where credit was due,
Wagner sang "Creep" well for him and I enjoyed his performance as a singer for the first time in the series.
Her dig at Wagner's song choice was rather mean.

I didnt think it was very nice of her to say that at all - personal and nasty

Blame Louise. He set him up with the song. Poignant and relevant.

The only positive thing about her comment to Wagner was that she didn't come out with that old "Last week we had the wedding, now the reception, what can we expect next week" . I think part of Dannii's problem is she believes she's funny and comes out with cringeworthy comments and acts likes she's in her twenties. I think she should stick to just judging the performance without trying too hard to be witty because she actually is a very credible judge.

I noticed that wandering hand thing she does on front of Louis came back tonight ”

She made that stupid comment to Danyl last year regarding his sexuality as well, the bint!

I wasn't. It's not a funny song and Wagner sang it pretty well?
