Yes, it is real peoples lives, as with anything - but a) they chose to go on the show (or were asked to go on the show in some cases) - if they want to be in showbiz, they'll have to
get used to the ups and downs.
b) You don't have to win the X Factor to make a career - look at all the others who have done well. Wagner winning WILL NOT stop those with genuine talent getting their deals, in fact it might be better for them as they then won't be tied to Simon, and can find whats best for them.
So, we are not doing Wagner any favours - I'td be better just to put him out of his misery now? Is that what you mean? Give him his deal, let him win, let him have the fun.
As for hurting the show or Simon, haven't they done that enough to themselves already, with all the scandals, Gamu, buying Katie out of her contract and consistently keeping her in because of that, even when the public want her out. They try to manipulate the show and the voting so its the acts they want in the spots they want, not respecting the public voting at all. I actually think the shows great and respect Simon in the fact that he is a good buisnessman and if he makes good money out of vthis - so what? It's just that the show has become unfair, both to the contestants and the viewing public and, although we might shake it up a bit this year, the aim (for myself anyway) is to show them it shouldn't be a show about 4 judges and their ego, it should be a show about giving all the talent a fair go and listening to the voice of the public! If they consistently try to fix the show - we need to show them that we will not stand for it and we will fix the show instead!
As for dictating what should or shouldn't be in the charts - isn't that Simons job? And, as these are public facebook pages, we are not forcing anyone to vote any way - it's up to the public to decide whether or not they join and vote Wagner - so it's not 'dictating the charts' (never heard such a silly statement!”
And if he wins you will buy his winners single? Continue to support him if he gets the contract? If so, fair enough. If not, why vote for him? The mentality is wrong.
Of course not everyone voting for Matt would buy his single, but many would, whereas with Wagner you get the feeling that only his true fans would - and there really isnt that many of them it seems. So Wagner wins, then fades into obscurity, not for definite but one would think it likely. He may not mind, perhaps he is just enjoying this for what it is, in which case no harm no foul. But he MAY believe that he is truly popular, that people want to buy his music and that will be a hard pill to swallow.
Other winners have faded into obscurity, and you are right that the truly talented will get a career without winning. I just think its truly sad that people feel the need to vote for Wagner just to "stick it to the man". I mean why? Whats the point? Especially as its not even sticking it to the man, its just making him richer.
It won't affect the chances of X Factor USA being successful either.
It just baffles me. But everyone can vote as they please, however stupid it is I guess.
