Actually Damn Good.

I have an issue - Compared to his first song this was on another level, but he is so inconsistent and that just will not do.

But he has redeemed itself, fairplay.

Mary & Katie - by far the worse along with 1D and Cher!

Why did he feel he had to pretend playing a guitar? Had there been only acoustic guitar it would have been ok but half an orchestra on the song plus electric guitar! Plus it wasnt miked lol.

The thing that's obvious with Matt is that there's no way he could keep singing in this way for any length of time. You can see he gives it absolutely everything on the big notes, straining his voice.

Him pretending to play the guitar really distracted me on this performance. Not sure why they did that as he clearly can play the guitar, but tonight his strumming was obviously out of time with what we could actually hear.

I had to switch over before he got to the end of the song anyway. His screeching was doing my head in.

Pretty sure it's NIWS. KIWS wouldn't be well protected in battle.

He was terrific with this song. Sang it in the same way he goes at his own stuff with Darwyn, so I was very happy. The first performance was OK, I could take or leave it, but Knights in White Satin (or is it Nights?) was my new favourite performance of Matt's from the Live shows.

The guitar wasn't miked because they were using acoustic pickup.

Rebecca's Aretha-ish Stones also terrific.

Nights in White Satin was probably my 3rd favourite performance tonight, but only because it was a particularly bad night for everyone else.
Matt is usually in tune, and his voice sounds okay in his lower register, but his voice through the rest of his range has a whingey quality that could cause milk to Cardle.

wasnt so keen on his first song but Nights in White Satin was amazing, easily the best performance of the night Matt has always been my fav to win even tho he's been given a few dodgy song choices, love all his own songs with his two bands as well, I will be first in line to buy his album

I have loved all of Dannii's choices for matt and if he made an album of those songs....no doubt it would be a smash hit album.

I just always have the mental picture of bad 80's videos with quite literal white satin sheets and 2 models rolling about in them looking pensive - wtf have you guys been thinking

Yes, I could not agree more. Both Matt (with Nights in White Satin) and Rebeccas Satisfaction was amazing. I also liked Chers "Walk this way" as well. Matt stole the show with his though!
