I mean she is a nasty old homophobe with dubious political policies and an unpleasant personality.

are people warming to her? please tell me you are laughing AT her.

I have no time for Ann's politics but you can bet your bottom dollar that for every person that disagrees with her views, there will be another who agrees with them.

As for her Strictly performances, I don't think Ann takes herself too seriously so she's happy to be laughed at or with. It doesn't matter, as long as she gets the laughs. I found her Samba and Rumba mildly amusing in places, but nowhere near enough to feel inclined to vote.

However, given the choice out of watching Ann and watching Gavin or Pamela, I'd pick Ann.

Controversial but true

Sadly I think what matters to people most is that she's an incompetent. They don't seem to mind that she's a rude, opinionated bigot.

I'm unsure how any adult can find what she does funny more than once. It's always the same. And it glosses over the fact she has made no effort to improve or to actually dance - which is what bothers me most about her. At least JS tried..Thats all I ask for and if they stink but viewers vote - so be it.

I think you are right about the incompetent bit. (Well, I agree with all of it, but that was the specific bit I wanted to reply to!) And I think she and Anton have realised this, and are deliberately catering to the market that wants incompetence. I think they may be the first couple to purposely choreograph something to be "so bad it's good". In contrast to say John Sergeant's Paso, I think Kristina knew that a short, portly man doing those recognisable moves would be funny - and all the funnier for being played straight. Ann and Anton seem to be trying to get the lowest marks possible each week - the lower the mark, the better chance they have of staying in.

My niece adores and votes for Ann and Anton every week. She is 11 years old with a badly scared upper body and arm resulting in some restricted movement. There reason she votes is because until Ann came along she hadn't realised that not everyone who dances has to wear tiny costumes and show off their bodies, similarly you can still enjoy dancing (and get a standing ovation) without having to have perfect arm and hand shapes. Watching Ann stand up for herself and also laugh at herself seems to have given my niece confidence. She starts her first dance lesson next week and it's all down to Ann and Anton.

I'm delighted for her.

I don't even laugh AT her .... she makes a mockery of the show and when more talented and dedicated dancers leave Strictly will hit rock bottom.

She is an odious woman who is homophoboc, sexist and bigoted. Anyone who advocated the shackling of women prisoners during childbirth has no right to be repackaged as a harmless old biddy having fun on a Saturday night.

Her comments about the Tower Ballroom last week took my breath away. Plus " I don't do Latin ... apart from the language " was condescending in the extreme.

If Anton wins the glitterball with this great titted old trout, his life's work will be ruined.

IMO

A very moving story.

I wish your niece great success at dancing. I believe that dancing is a wonderful way to develop poise self-confidence patience and great posture and make friends. It will be marvellous for your niece to be in the company of people who will give her every encouragement to succeed.

Thank you for your lovely story, the news of your niece regaining her confidence and starting her first dance lesson really is inspirational, dance is for everyone not just the plastic perfectionists, wish your niece well and I hope she loves her first dance lesson.

I am genuinely delighted for your niece, and I mean that. BUT Anne is not similarly disabled, so I question her integrity in this competition. She COULD be trying harder, but has decided to opt out and do comedy.

That's a very nice story and I'm glad she has been inspired to go to dance classes, hope she loves them as all little girls do

But I fail to see why that has anything to do with Ann still deserving a place in this competition

As long as your niece doesn't want to be a member of the clergy or be gay or have sex education or anything... sorry it is a sweet story and I am glad she got something out of it.

I'm sure she isn't anything like as hideous as AW anyway (who isn't disabled), and AW does non-athletic people a disservice by making them objects of fun.
