Help! Just re-scanned channels and got all BBC Wales services
Hi,
My box forced a new channel download whilst, when watching TV, I tried changing channels. Then the above happened. Any idea how I can get BBC England back? |

Problem solved.
Just scanned channels again, and got the main BBC channels back. Does anyone know why this happens? One of my Freeview boxes does this as well. Puts BBC Wales onto the epg I mean. |

If you get a map and draw a line from your location to your transmitter, then extend it to Wales you'll probably find a Welsh transmitter somewhere on the line. When your box is scanning for channels, if for some reason the signal from the Welsh transmitter is stronger than the English one then the Welsh channels will be given the "normal" channel numbers. However, the weaker channels that are asking for the same channel numbers will be moved to the 800 range.
So if it happens again, scroll the EPG up to channel 800 and see if the English versions are in that range. |

Thanks for that Intercept.
It was also explained to me that as the Welsh channels are on a lower frequency than the English, the box scans them first and therefore puts them onto the epg. |
