is there a way to get longer recording times on the sagem myx7 as the video recording only lasts 15 secs and sound record 30 secs
and thats just not even worth it

not really, unless it accepts other applications designed for your handset, for example, i used to have 3650 and you only had 10 secs vid with that, but i downloded a program that made the record last as long as the memory had in the fone, i think the fone you have is preset for this like all fones and cant be changed, like i say, try searching for downloads on google..
