She was terrible on the first song and reasonable on the second.

What genre would that be? Mime?

She truly is dreadful. The way Cowell fawns over her just makes it all the more disturbing.

Hopefully tonight the Hell Beast will finally be banished.

My son was cringing listening to 'Sex on Fire', she just doesn't have a very powerful voice, and the song was cut to ribbons very badly.

It really peed me off when the only comments they made were about whatever had happened in the week.....I am not interested, i dont read papers or mags so dont know wtf they were on about. All i wanted was a comment (an honest one) on the performance.

whats the point of them as judges?

My wife sat and thought exactly the same. So you are not alone.

She is dreadful.

We even commented that her singing on one of the songs was worse than Wagners, and that is saying something.

She always croaks through half the song, and then shouts through the rest.

For some reason the shouting is seen by the judges as "emotion". No, it's just shouting.

How anyone can claim this girl can sing is beyond us.

That said, the standard of singing in this series is at an all time low. She isn't alone...

Noticed this too from Cheryl. Contrast that to Danni's beaming with admiration and pride of Matt which was also noticeable.

I cringed through Sex On Fire and when she tried to do Everybody Hurts I listened to three lines then muted her and stuck on the original. I watched her though... I could tell it was awful.

and Louis too... he's done an about turn on her... I am totally

Maybe she is a nice person, sure.. prepared to believe that is possible and that she just doesn't come across well (and that some of the reports of her diva-ish behaviour are exaggerations) .. but she just doesn't have the voice to match the star she wants to be.

I'm genuinely perplexed.

Yeah, the whole scripted, contrived aspect of X-Factor is always there but the Katie thing is a bit mystifying.

I thought when they got her on the tour that would be enough, and we could finally be shot of her. But no, she's still there like a stubborn stain that even Vanish wouldn't shift.

good point. The judges are somewhat arrogantly assuming that everyone reads the drivel that the newspapers publish and they no doubt feed to them in the first place. The comments are not at all geared up for people who may mildly enjoy the show from time to time on a Saturday but who don't buy tabloids or at least skim past the xfactor stories. Fair enough, they are catering to the mass population that do buy and take in such rubbish, but it is frustrating.

These people aren't stars yet it is laughable that they are getting as much airtime or journal print as they are.

Something Simon has always said before was basically, if you're not coming across to the public by now it's not working, see ya.

I understand she has had a bit of a caning in the press (mainly though from reports on here, I don't buy tabloids, so not very familiar with what has been said).. but the way both Simon & Louis seem to be protecting her and citing how she has had so much unnecessary press and that we (the public) must give her a chance is really really strange.

Louis particularly was almost distraught with his praise of her on the XFactor with the caller.

And what was Simon saying last night about all publicity is good?

Okay, I get she has created publicity... but if she was gone they'd still be plenty of it anyway, the tabs will always find or make something up anyway!!

mystifying.

Katie needs to run for the hills now.

When scum sucking, low-life, ex-girlfriend slashing advocate, talentless promoter of Britains underbellys worst excesses, Danny Dyer, thinks it will help his public rehabilitation to slag off Katie then you know she's sunk to a new low.

As a singer, Katie is marginally better than Wagner, but only just. That says it all really.

The judges have to be on crack. I dont understand why theyre forcing her on us. Simons line regarding Everybody Hurts - about if she had been able to finish the song she'd have smashed it... Excuses! These judges are just wack nowadays, I cant bare it, ooo now ive got myself in the mood to vote for waggy again!!!!

WAGZ for the WIN
