Every week the judges say that it's amazing how Katie can come out and perform after the terrible week she's had..

What are they talking about ? ... what, exactly, is Katie enduring that is so 'terrible' the judges feel she should be commended for it every week ?

I'm sure real pop stars have bad things happen to them and still have to perform a whole concert never mind just one or two songs.

Cummon, do you really expect peopleto believe that you have NOT heard any publicity this week (or every week) regarding Katie?

I havent bought or read a newspaper for over 20 years and I have heard all about the OTT damage limitation publicity regarding her grandmother etc etc etc.

Some of us realise that Katie is one strong girl who has come out and performed every week when most others would have been crushed.

TBH, I find it pretty amazing and have great respect for her reolve and determination.

Yep, just as Katie has done

She hasnt moaned about it has she?, simply Simon Cowell adding more insult to injury by dragging it up once more to keep his dream final three alive.

Well, unless you live in a bunker without any outside contact, you will have done.

Lets see, the internet, the TV news, the radio, gossip mags etc etc, they have been full of it.

as I mentioned before i dont read papers or mags and didnt realise she featured in the bbc news

nothing on the small snippets of radio (juice fm) I hear on the way to and from work either

if I was to see anything it would be on here. I recall seeing a thread title about her grandmother but thought that was a few weeks ago . How would I know whats being going on with her during the week just from seeing a random thread title on here. Could have been anything

My husband, who is not internet savvy was also wondering what they were on about

There are people who dont read the press

Completely agree. The vitriol Katie has had to put up with in the press this week and every week is ridiculous. I know most of the contestants have had something negative written about them but nothing to the extent of this poor girl, how she gets up there every week and sings is beyond me, I'd have collapsed under the pressure weeks ago. I like Katie and I hope she doesn't go this week.

So you think that's what it is ... that when the judges mention the 'terrible week' she's had they are refering to stories in the papers ?

What I don't understand is that they have been saying the same thing every week. It's almost as though Katie is enduring something unique that doesn't apply to the other contestants ... but how can that be, when stories about all of them appear in the press ?

Every week there has been something about Katie in an attempt to ruin her chances. Yes, she Katie has endured more than anyone else.

I don't read the tabloids either, and I genuinely don't know what these 'terrible' stories about Katie have been.

Perhaps someone can give us a quick summing up

Funny how Simon keeps saying that there is no such thing as bad publicity, when there clearly is.
Matt has been picked up on what he has said about Wagner and yet three of the judges have said as much or worse things about Wagner. But they have gotten away with it.
Matt has been singled out as the bad guy.

And why was Simon so annoyed about his recent award being mentioned by Louis?

Simon is really clever and the public buy it each time. He knew that Katie smashed the first song, against his wishes and had to stop the flow with her second song.

Wagner has had just as bad a press as Katie, maybe worse

Smashed / wrecked / ruined / laid waste / destroyed.

Yup. She pretty much has done that with everything she has "sung".

Yeah right, because Wagner is so serious about a long term musical career isnt he?

He is after a quick buck and his 5 minutes of fame, he is loving anything in the press about him and therefore is not really bothered.

Credit where it's due. She has at least started to remember lyrics. Maybe she could just do readings like Pam Ayres.
