I didn't like Mary's song choices at all last night.

With a voice like hers, she could have totally nailed 'Alone' by Heart. Such an obvious choice......why, oh, why didn't they get her to do that?

They probably didn't want her to nail anything (though I thought she performed the U2 song well). She's a firm contender for the chop this week.

Disagree. The only contestant that could ever have pulled of Alone was Ruth Lorenzo, and she didn't get to sing it (more's the pity.) Mary doesn't have the upper range for Alone.

Is there any song with the lyrics "Every little helps" in it?

I'm going to do a Google search and email it to Louis before her sing-off.

No - yuk. Didn't get the TreyC love at all.

Yep - looks like it, sadly.

Simon would probably say it isn't 'well known' enough

Wasn't a great fan of Ruth, but yeah, she could have pulled it off.

Ooh, good call! And not just the vocals but also the "feel". She would've killed it.

Agree on both points Zip. Treyc was so boring and had no spark, an OK voice but no stage prescence, she would have ruined Alone with her usual dull lack lustre performance. It would have been a good song choice for Mary though.

I like Mary but think she is very unsafe tonight - I personally hope Wagner and Cher go but can't see that happening

I found this on Youtube - it could help her pub singer credentials.

That is perfect.

She should do that in the sing-off, guitar and all.

Don't think she has the range or control required for Alone.

And although she shouts she does not have a rock enough edge to her voice to carry off any 'rock' tune. Neither does Katie. Or One Direction. Or Rebecca. Or Matt. Or Cher. Or Wagner...

making it a truly stupid theme to choose all round really!

I said this weeks ago. Alone by Heart would have been perfect and Mary does have the range for it. She has the perfect voice for it. If Mary goes tonight, it's a fix. She was the best last night. Granted, Brass In Pocket wasn't the best but 10 times better than most of the others like Katie, Wagner and Cher even Rebecca.

'Alone' would be a great choice for her Zip,but I actually enjoyed both her songs last night.I've a hunch they are good enough to keep her safe tonight.

Mary is nowhere near good enough to sing Alone - how could she sing that "Alonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne" bit at the end? No way, she'd murder it.

I'm bored with Mary and Rebecca now, nice singers but dull.

That's the bit I thought she'd do very well with.

Smash it into next week yes - she could hold the note but it would be completely cabaret like the rest of her performances.

Her middle name is Cunard.

Ok- we get it you don't like her

She would do a good version of Alone- Zip- would really suit her voice- the usual suspects would still complain whatever she sang

Totally - also, what's wrong with her doing a bit of Dame Shirley and Tom Jones? (I love them both...)
