Interesting... well the One Show will presumably be better for his career than the tour so can't really blame him.

I wonder who they will get instead. Hope it's someone good- maybe I will go after all!

If its true I am a bit suprised because people might have bought tickets specifically to see Matt and Aliona.

That's a shame, particularly for those that really wanted to see him dance but this is a great career opportunity so can understand why he's put his day job first.

Was he ever announced as being on the tour?

Oh no, I bought my tickets after he was confirmed as doing it

I'm hoping that as it seems in that article as a throw away comment at the end that it hasn't been confirmed yet

Well for your sake I hope thats true...its not often celebrities with any kind of scruples let fans down.

Thanks - I lost track somewhere after the first announcement. Wonder who they'll get to replace him...

Maybe Scott
Ballroom-B.

I'd be concerned if he now turned round and said he wouldn't do the tour as though I'm not an expert on the law, I think he would be in breach of contract. As he is now advertised on the SCD live tour site, I assume that meant he had signed the contract.

I think we will have to wait for more information from the various sources, though maybe the BBC will use stand in presenters during the tour or his contract will not officially start until the tour ends - afterall Jason Manford signed in the May or something and started in the August.

Doubt it'll be Scott. As Ricky is doing it, Natalie can't be with both.

He could still do it- Gethin and Tom both did the second tour, and Gethin danced with Flavia instead of Camilla.

However, I really don't think Scott has the energy for it so I hope it's not him!

I don't think thats a problem, i have seen other celebs in the show that don't dance with their original show partners.....

Perhaps Geth would do it again. Now that would be great!

I would be surprised if he didn't do the tour. I'm sure the BBC can wait a few more weeks and use stand in presenters until the tour has finished.

I think we should all wait until the BBC officially announce something before getting carried away.

I think you might be right on reflection. The People have probably just assumed about the tour.

If Matt were to win SCD it would be strange that he would not be on the Tour.

Ticket sales could be affected so maybe the BBC will either 'try' to get a different winner or delay his full time One Show appearance.

If its true that Matt has been given The One Show, good on him. Its obvious he is not a Judges favourite unlike Scott.

Not all the celebs do all the dates if I understand correctly. Obviously if Matt is doing TOS Monday-Thursday he can't appear, but that doesnt mean he can't do some of the Friday/weekend shows.

Also, I think the small print of any tickets will state in T&C that content is subject to change. As for breach of contract, is the BBC not the employer for both the tv shows and the tour?

Jason Manford had a tour planned when he took the one show so I don't see what the difference is? Matt was announced for the Strictly tour so he should be still doing the tour.

I may be wrong but I think it's a different 'employer' for the Tour.

I hope it's not through a hissy fit after last night - he did look seriously hacked off

Perhaps Goldie could be given another chance in his place if it's true?

Thanks Bonnie. I did appreciate that while the BBC logo is over everything, it didnt mean they had much to do with the logistics of the tour itself.

It was something that was said to me this year by a steward when he asked me to put my mobile away
