If it is true, no doubt he will get even worse marks now....and it so tries........the judges are cruel.......and not inspiring at all.

Its not normally the case that celebs dont do certain nights on the Strictly tour .....thats not happened in any of the previous tours except when celebs have been ill for a couple of dates.

The first tour James Martin didnt dance on Saturdays and was replaced by Martin Offiah on those nights but that was known before the tickets were stold.

He probably got angry because he didnt get good marks for his appalling dance.

If he has dropped out I might buy tickets and go after all.

It happens quite often on the Dancing on Ice tour. Perhaps that's what Smokeychan1 was thinking of?

Even without Matt it's a strong line-up this year; Colin and Ricky, all they need is Rachel and it would be my SCD "dream team". Mind you Kara is running a close second to Rachel as my favourite ever female dancer on SCD so I think I don't think I would miss Matt as much as some.

Just wanted to say I might start watching the One Show again now. It hasn't been the same since Adrian left. Matt is an excellent choice.

If he doesn't do the tour it will have nothing to do with last night's show.

You may be right memmh. I havent been to either show, but being similar in theme it is possible to get confused. I thought someone for sure had only done Easter dates the year following their appearance (Ricky Whittle?) but a check on wiki doesnt show him appearing at all. I did note that Bruno and Len don't do all the shows, but I was definately not thinking of judges when I made my earlier statement

I agree. That was rather an incredible suggestion

Yes, I don't think of Matt as a 13 year old girl who quits when he doesn't get told he's the prettiest in the class It seems the bitchiness isn't just reserved for Scott after all.

Woohoo! I hope they get somebody more exciting and not a dud as a replacement.

If they left the stage empty for 10 minutes it would be more exciting.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for confirmation one way or the other before presumptions are made?

Personally, I would not buy tickets for the tour if I only wanted to see one celeb? Yes it might entice me, but the dancing is what I'm interested in.

Oh yes, I'd much rather he was behind the camera than in front of it!

Seriously though, this story was in a Sunday tabloid and may not even be true. Having signed for the tour, it would be highly unprofessional to then pull out of it.

I thought a spokesman at the Beeb had said they would work round Matt's other activities. They can use Chris Evans a couple of days a week and other guest presenters.

That's a bit of a blow to the tour and fans - because Matt would have been a big draw and would have made it more competitive.

Now it looks likely each show will be won by either Kara or Pamela. They will just alternate.

I bought my ticket because my fave had been added (Matt), but I'm happy that Patsy, Pamela, Kara and Jimi are doing it.

For the moment, this story is in People and hasn't been picked up by any other news outlet, suggesting that the newspaper was probably jumping the gun a bit.

I suspect that the article is semi-correct: Yes, he's got the One Show (I can't see how the BBC can't give it to him) but the Tour and Countryfile commitments probably still stand for now.

We'll see.

I have to agree with you there Jan, I'm trying to figure out which show would be easier for me to get to as I really want to see him and Natalie dance together. I also loved Colin and it would be interesting to see if he still has the "magic" because if he danced his AS, QS and Rumba anywhere near to their original performances he really couldn't be discounted. As I said earlier, I really do think it's a strong line-up this year with three excellent technical dancers.

As far as I know, they're two separate employers, with rights granted to use the BBC logo etc for the tour. Matt wouldn't have been announced as doing the tour unless he'd signed the contract, and the tour company are under no obligation to let him out of the contract, so if he does breach it it's going to cost him a lot, which I doubt the BBC would be willing to pay.

The tour is not long this time, so I see no reason why his One Show commitments couldn't be put on hold for those few weeks and stand-ins used, just as is always the case when the presenters take holidays. That would be the obvious solution, but the BBC aren't famed for taking the obvious route....

I think the story about him getting the One Show job is probably true, but I don't believe he'd be allowed to or would drop the tour that quickly, so I won't believe that part of the story unless it's in several reliable sources.

My money would be on Colin to take most of the shows easily TBH .

Does anyone else think MrIncredible is a troll?

Oh well, if Ricky AND Colin are doing it, who needs Matt?

Agree (with both statements). I've never been to a tour so this doesn't affect me, but it's a shame. However, Matt is really busy and I think he is a great addition to the One Show..
