She's deffo gone imo. It's just a case of whether it's Cher, Wagner or Katie who join her. Brass In Pocket was awful, karaoke at best. All I Want Is You was passable but still not amazing

It's her time, innit. Cruise-ship belter, not x-factor winner.

Just realised it's a double elimination. I think Mary will go first. And Katie and 1 Direction the other two acts in the bottom 2. With Katie going via judges.

Yep, Mary 'Cunard' Byrne's time is up.
Come in boat no. 7. Anyone should have been able to do a great rendition of All I Want because its a great song - sorry, was a great song. |

It is a shame, but the Lord needs a sacrifice and this week, he has chosen Mary.

Actually, I think Mary was pretty good this week. When she's at her best she's up there with Rebecca for the best female voice in the competition.
But I think, as was evident from the judges' comments last night, she's served her purpose and it's time to sling her overboard now. |

Wagner is clearly the worst act. But I agree I think Mary or Katie will be in the bottom 2 with Mary going via deadlock.
I would be surprised if Mary got fewer votes than Katie (she hasn't all series) - so I think Katie will go on fewest votes. Mary vs Wagner then Mary stays but Mary vs Cher I couldn't say as I couldn't predict what Dannii would do but probably Mary going. |

Mary's fan base is as solid as Matt's : it was reported this week in the Irish press that the lowest Mary has ever finished in the vote was 5th (when she sang the Faith Hill song) and that she was top 3 last weekend.
For her to finish last tonight,it would mean the substantial vote she has been getting for the seven weeks would have to completely collapse. Why exactly is this going to happen? |

The bookies have Wagner the fave to go first with a sing off between Katie and Mary with Cher being a close 4th to bottom. The other three seem to be pretty safe.
I expect Mary has a bigger fan base than most people realise. If she is fourth, it will be an interesting night. |

She is not favoured on the internet and in the tabloids - but they may all be wrong in relation to the votes. PS Leon Jackson was never the bookies favourite even until the final - but he apparently won every week. |

I would like to believe you are right - there are a lot of older loyal viewers who will back her to the hilt. There are as many over 40s watching the show as under 30s (who are more likely to back the 'younger' acts and post on twitter etc).

I'm optimistic about Mary's chances as she performed well last night, and her fanbase will be as motivated as ever to vote for her. |

The Irish press seemed very sure of their facts, unlike with all the voting leak business on this forum, which is more than likely a silly internet hoax.

If your right and the leaks in the papers are right about Wagner being top 3, then the leak on twitter could be accurate

Can't be sure at all about Wagner, but the press seemed certain about Mary, and even going into details about how she has been doing over the weeks.Any of the "leaks" on the forum saying Mary is last or second last simply don't wash with me.
