All these pedestals and podiums...
Aren't they a bit passé by now? At least the perspex steps were a variation on the theme.
It seems the bigger the guest act or bigger the contestant's production, the taller and wider the pedestal they stand on. Shayne Ward looked like he was stood on top of the monolith from 2001 A Space Odyssey, and JLS were like 4 cake fairies spinning round. One Direction seem to always be mounted on a plinth, the sort that might have 'Made by Leonardo' on the base. Motionless Rebecca has been on top of so many pedestals that if she had strings running through her body you could maybe press a button underneath and the girl would finally flop about and 'dance'. Aiden was up on scaffolding, but minus a hard hat. It's getting a bit silly. The winner will no doubt be stood on top of a 50ft high pedestal, their neck against the studio ceiling. |

I wish they'd be a bit more imaginative. I mean, what's to stop them creating some sort of giant bongo throne for Wagner one week? Now THAT would be entertainment
