So we had rock week but barely anybody rocked???
I think the worst culprit was Rebecca.... turned Satisfaction into a limp sort of Motown-y, Soul-y, Supremes-y load of dreary tosh.
Most arguments about the themes revolve around is the song choice appropriate to the theme? eg Nights In White Satin clearly has nothing to do with rock.
However, when Rebecca takes an actual rocking song but just stands there doing it her way I think that's worse. Also, I'm not buying the argument "she made it different/her own/unique" - she's not displaying any range or versatility whatsoever - she just stands there week after week singing virtually the same irrespective of what the theme is.
Bottom line is she's boring me and I expect her to be flirting with bottom 3 tonight.

I am not a Rebecca fan but I adored her doing this - she was amazing. Loved it.

TBH, the themes have been a farce this year.

They've been loose at best & not worthy of the name theme.

They should just let the acts sing what they want, because they practically do anyway.

I actually LOVE it when Louis starts with his rule book thing.

I thought Brass in Pocket was utter nonsense. 'Rock', my eye.

Edit: Just realised what a hypocrite Louis has been with that! LOL

I really like Rebecca but her version of U2's "Still Haven't..." was a cover of another cover (The Chimes). Certainly not rock.

What was even more remarkable was Cowell stating he had never heard it sung like that before

It clearly shows his knowledge of music is weak at best.

Mind you most of what he says is utter crap........

That's the first thing I thought when I heard her sing.

It staggered me that $imon claimed never to have heard it sung like that before, when it was so reminiscent of that cover version.

Well, this is what they have been doing.

What baffles me is why have a rock week with no rock singers in the compeition

In previous years a lot of posters regularly complained about the theme weeks and how they were too restricting, this year when something has been done about this people are complaining about the opposite.
